Water and wastewater treatment is energy-intensive. Yet those same facilities also generate energy during treatment, and much of it is currently lost.

A yet2 client is seeking energy recovery and integration technologies that can be built into their products to capture this energy and reduce Scope 3 emissions across water and wastewater treatment. What they are looking for:

Technologies that retrofit into existing water machinery, such as reverse osmosis units and anaerobic digesters
Recovery and reuse of varied energy types: hydroelectric, tidal, kinetic, thermal, pressure, and chemical
Developed solutions at TRL 6 to 9, including approaches proven in adjacent industries

If your organization has a proven energy recovery technology, read the full brief and reach out.

Encapsulating non-polar, solvent-like liquids is one of the harder problems in colloidal science. Conventional oil-based microcapsules leak under real-world conditions or rely on chemistries that contribute to microplastic load.

A yet2 client is seeking novel delivery, stabilization, and encapsulation technologies for complex non-polar functional liquids. The goal: protect the active, handle it cleanly, and trigger release on demand, with materials that are not classified as microplastic.

Areas of interest:

Emulsion and dispersion stabilization for non-polar actives
Bio-based, hybrid, or naturally derived encapsulation matrices with tuneable permeability and degradation
Trigger-based release: humidity, light, enzymatic, mechanical, or time-dependent
Spray-drying, electro-spraying, and supercritical CO2 processing routes
Alternative low-energy inputs including electromagnetic, acoustic, and microwave-assisted methods

Cross-industry solutions from food, home care, personal care, fragrance, agriculture, pharma, textiles, and advanced coatings are all in scope. Early-stage and low-TRL work from academic groups and startups is welcome.

Weโ€™re on the hunt for new ingredients and technologies that improve gum health by modulating the oral microbiome.

Haleon are exploring solutions that can be incorporated into everyday oral care products, like toothpaste and mouthwash, to help prevent or reverse dysbiosis associated with gingivitis.

Hereโ€™s what weโ€™re looking for:
โœ… Demonstrated efficacy (in vitro or in vivo)
โœ… Safe for daily oral use
โœ… Stable under relevant storage conditions
โœ… Cost-effective for consumer products
โœ… Clear regulatory pathway (e.g., GRAS or equivalent)

Tea and coffee drying still runs on wood chips and biomass in many remote production regions. That fuel choice is now a Scope 1 emissions problem.

A global tea and coffee processor is seeking low and zero CO2e technologies to replace the biomass and wood-fired steam engines and air/air heat exchangers used during drying, withering, oxidation, and coffee extraction. Key requirements:

Heat ambient air up to 120ยฐC
24/7 operation, day and night
Deployable in remote regions, easy to maintain
Stay within a 2MW grid cap
Operating cost competitive with wood/biomass at $30/tonne

Solution areas of interest include parabolic dish collectors, electric boilers, mechanical v***r recompression (MVR), heat recovery projects, and Cleaning in Place (CIP) optimization.

๐Ÿš€ After a fire in a sealed spacecraft, the danger doesn't end when the flames do.

Acid gases and smoke particulates can corrode metal, etch glass, and harm crew: and in a closed environment, there's nowhere for those contaminants to go.

NASA's Glenn Research Center is looking for innovative post-fire cleanup technologies for spacecraft surfaces.

Solutions must be:
โ€ข Compact & lightweight
โ€ข Low-power (

One of the smartest sustainability models we've seen lately in our projects:

A centralized internal fund dedicated to hitting long-term climate goals.

Rather than relying on individual business units, who have their own budgets, targets, and day-to-day pressures, some forward-thinking companies are standing up dedicated sustainability groups that fund site-level upgrades across the organization.

Our takeaway: sustainability transformation rarely happens from the bottom up.

Top-down, ring-fenced funding changes what's possible.

Is your organization structured to resource its 2030/2040 commitments?

AI can scan thousands of sources in seconds, but speed isn't the same as insight.

In scouting, the gaps are subtle:
โŽ missing high-value targets
โŽ unvalidated data
โŽ outputs that look decision-ready but aren't

The real risk isn't moving slowly. It's moving fast in the wrong direction.

yet2's latest blog breaks down where AI-only scouting falls short: and how a structured approach combining proprietary data, AI, and human validation changes the outcome.

Worth a read if AI is becoming part of your scouting workflow. ๐Ÿ‘‡
