As we prepare to welcome visitors from across the country for the Fall Waverly Horse Sale, Waverly Mayor Kristin Happel has a special welcome for everyone making the trip to town.

Greetings, and Happy Fall!
Welcome to the Waverly Horse Sale: Fall Edition. We are happy to have you join us here in Waverly and hope you enjoy your time visiting. We look forward to the horse sale every time it rolls around, and the old and new friends that come with it. Waverly is proud of its horse-sale heritage; thank you for being a part of it. I hope you take time to enjoy our downtown shopping, recreational opportunities, or dining options. Our shopping options include everything from antiques to shoes to clothing and makeup. Looking for something fun? Check out a movie at our beautiful new theater, throw hatchets, or take a walk on one of our beautiful trails. If you stick around on October 10, you can catch the Wartburg College homecoming parade. Want to grab a bite to eat off site? Our dining options include a variety of choices including Chinese, Mexican, pizza, and classic favorites. I am happy to make suggestions, although all of our restaurants are great! There are friendly faces and helpful people everywhere you go in town. Our community is proud to roll out the welcome mat for visitors, and we are truly glad you're here!

A UNITED VOICE ON BEEF IMPORTS

American Farm Bureau Federation, Livestock Marketing Association, National Cattlemen's Beef Association and United States Cattlemen's Association have joined together in a letter to President Trump urging him to reverse course on the proposed 90-day beef import plan.

Their goal: strengthen U.S. cattle production, protect producers and consumers, and preserve the long-term future of America’s cattle industry.
