š HOME INSPECTION TIP: You Donāt Need to Bring the Whole Family š
Dadās a contractor? Bring him.
Uncle Tonyās an electrician? Absolutely.
Your cousinās a plumber? He might actually be helpful.
But your mother-in-law who has watched 14 seasons of HGTV and ājust doesnāt like the feeling of this houseā?ā¦
Maybe she can sit this one out. š
A home inspection is stressful enough without 11 people walking around giving opinions:
āI donāt like that crack.ā
āIād knock this wall down.ā
āThat basement smells funny.ā
āYou know what your cousin paid for his house?ā
āI would NEVER buy this.ā
Meanwhile, your home inspector is standing there trying to explain the actual problems with the house. š
Hereās my rule:
Bring people who bring knowledgeānot anxiety.
The smaller the crowd, the easier it is for you to listen, ask questions, understand the findings and actually picture yourself living there.
Because at the end of the dayā¦
Youāre buying the house. Not Uncle Tony. Not Mom. And definitely not your mother-in-law. š
š š Less opinions. More inspection.
