Our Station Operational Status System (SOSS) shows each open station's real-time status and updates at least every 15 minutes.

Beyond industry leadership and education, H2FCP's primary contribution to drivers is one tool: SOSS, our real-time Station Operational Status System.

Drivers check SOSS before heading to a station. Operators use it to report outages. State agencies and Low Carbon Fuel Standard reporting participants rely on it too, and third-party map apps pull SOSS data into their own platforms. We're now in the process of further upgrades and modernizations to make the tool even faster and more dependable.

Everything else drivers depend on, from the dispenser to the delivery truck to the codes and standards that make a fill safe, is built by our members: vehicle manufacturers, station developers, fuel producers, transit agencies, and policymakers who've worked together since H2FCP was founded in California in 1999.

Why do drivers choose ? The reasons are practical, according to the U.S. Department of Energy's Alternative Fuels Data Center: fill up in less than five minutes, get more than 300 miles of range, and produce zero tailpipe emissions.

The vehicles on the road back that up. Toyota's 2026 Mirai has an EPA-estimated range of 402 miles and comes with up to $15,000 in complimentary hydrogen, an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty on fuel cell components, and 21 days of complimentary rental car use during the first three years.

Honda's CR-V e:FCEV, America's first production plug-in hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, combines a U.S.-made fuel cell module with plug-in charging for around-town driving and hydrogen for longer trips. It has a 270-mile EPA-estimated range and a fuel card worth up to $15,000 over a three-year lease.
