August was a special month for birthdays at The Caring Connection! For the first time we celebrated THREE nonagenarians! Jane turned 90, Candy turned 91 and Alice turned 93! Happy Birthday to THREE amazing ladies!!!

This month we had a wonderful intergenerational program! Out clients played bingo with the “Rising Star” middle school students from South Windsor.
Their director, Marietta St. Onge (who just happens to be Caring Connection’s nurse Judy’s best friend) was there to call and hand out prizes! Best of luck to these amazing students as they start the new school year!

This month we had a very moving 9/11 presentation given by Enita Jubrey, our interim director. Special guest Maureen, who lost her brother on that day, spoke as well. Enita has organized the Walk of Life to honor the lives lost on 9/11. She has actually been nationally recognized for this. This year marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Caring Connection clients have already been working on decorating luminaries that will light the walkways on the Windsor Green.

Here are a few pics from our July horticulture therapy visit with Amy! She decided on a tropical theme and the clients strung their own leis with fresh flowers and beads! Aloha!! 🌺

This was the week to celebrate our beloved Joan, who turned 101 on Sunday, June 21st! 🎈🎁🎉
On Monday we had festivities at The Caring Connection with a delicious cake sent in by her daughter!
Today our Activities Director Eileen, Nurse Denise, Joan and a few of her closest friends went to Friendly’s! The pictures and videos tell it all!
Joan is an amazing lady who still walks independently and is “sharp as a tack”! A true inspiration!!

We were honored to have our State Representative Jane Garibay come by today! She stopped to speak with each staff member and client. Thank you once again Jane for all of your support!

Today is Roy’s birthday! He attends every Monday and Wednesday. Roy is a proud veteran and a master storyteller!
This Wednesday his wife and daughter came in and surprised him with a party hat, a balloon and cupcakes for all of us!
Happy Birthday to our dear Roy! 🎂🎈🧁

Today we celebrated the 14th Birthday of our beloved therapy dog, Jack! He has been coming to us faithfully, along with his handler/owner Kelly, for 11 years!
Jack celebrated with his own doggie cake, doggie ice cream and cards signed by the clients and staff! We love you, Jack!!!
