We're incredibly proud to announce that Tractor Outdoor has been awarded Silver in the Sustainability category at the 2026 WOO Awards for Project Net Zero, in partnership with Billboard Management Technologies.

Project Net Zero reimagines how Digital Out of Home (DOOH) infrastructure can contribute to a more sustainable future by repurposing and reusing DOOH assets to generate power. The project demonstrates how existing infrastructure can be leveraged in innovative ways to reduce environmental impact while creating long-term value beyond advertising.

This recognition is particularly meaningful as it comes from the World Out of Home Organization, placing our work alongside some of the most innovative projects from across the global OOH industry. Being acknowledged on this international stage is a testament to the power of collaboration, forward-thinking innovation and a shared commitment to sustainability.

As the project continues to evolve, its long-term potential to deliver cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions reinforces our belief that Out of Home infrastructure can play a meaningful role in building a more sustainable future.

What do you value most about your position at Tractor Outdoor?
I value being part of a team that is committed to excellence while remaining adaptable and open to change when needed. The ability to streamline processes and continuously improve is particularly important to me. I also greatly appreciate the strong sense of teamwork, where colleagues are consistently supportive and willing to assist one another.

What is something you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t been able to do?
I have always really wanted to visit Alaska.

What is your proudest professional achievement?
My proudest professional achievement was helping a cleaner transition into an admin role by sharing my knowledge and supporting her development. Seeing her confidence grow and watching her truly flourish in her new position was incredibly rewarding.

In your opinion, what is our best product/service/offering and why?
Our greatest offering is our team. Across all departments, we have highly skilled and knowledgeable individuals who are committed to excellence and driven to position Tractor Outdoor as the best in the industry. Their dedication and collaborative approach ensure that we consistently deliver an outstanding experience to our clients.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Be kind, always, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

What is your favourite way to spend a day off?
My favourite way to spend an off day is to go book hunting at my favourite second-hand bookshops and adding to my ever-growing home library.

When billboards become love letters, outdoor advertising transforms into something far bigger than media space - it becomes a shared human experience. Cadbury's "Share the Love" campaign proved the power of storytelling at scale, turning everyday commutes into emotional moments that captured attention, sparked conversation, and connected with audiences in a genuinely authentic way.

"People were invited to submit messages through QR codes placed on billboards or through links shared online. Those links directed them to a Cadbury Dairy Milk branded mobisite...", says Ruchelle Mouton, Chief Marketing Officer at Glynt.

Johannesburg and Cape Town have always played different roles in South Africa’s economy but when it comes to Out of Home, the balance hasn’t kept up.

While Gauteng continues to dominate OOH inventory and spend, the Western Cape tells a very different story. It’s South Africa’s second-largest regional economy, a powerful consumption market, and home to some of the country’s highest household spending patterns, yet it remains significantly underrepresented in both billboard and DOOH investment.

As Steve Duck, Chief Revenue Officer at Tractor Outdoor notes: “OOH planning has historically followed infrastructure; where sites exist, budgets follow. But as the market evolves, planners have an opportunity to be more deliberate about how investment is distributed.”

As OOH continues to grow, particularly in digital, correcting that imbalance may be one of the simplest ways to deliver more effective campaigns.

The opportunity isn’t more media. It’s better distribution.

Cape Town shouldn’t be your brand’s “holiday destination” – it’s the very place where OOH can have some real OOMPH.
