SA Hotel Industry Supports Vital Stroke and Brain Cancer Research

Today, 29 October, marks World Stroke Day, an important reminder of the need for ongoing research to improve treatment and recovery outcomes.

The South Australian hotel industry is proud to support the NeuroSurgical Research Foundation (NRF) through an Independent Gaming Corporation (IGC) Community Grant, facilitated by AHA|SA through our Pubs with Heart initiative and Clubs SA.

The funding will provide specialised equipment to advance stroke and brain cancer research led by Professor Renée Turner and Professor Stuart Pitson.

AHA|SA President David Basheer welcomed the support.

“The South Australian hotel industry is delighted to support this important research. It highlights the outstanding work of South Australian researchers and their contribution on a global scale.”

NRF Executive Officer Ginta Orchard expressed her appreciation for the funding, which will help researchers work towards better outcomes for those affected by stroke and brain cancer.

A fantastic day yesterday at our Yorke Peninsula Regional Meeting, with more than 70 members, industry colleagues and partners coming together at the Anglers Inn Hotel, Wallaroo.

A huge thank you to Scott Thomas and the team for their wonderful hospitality and for hosting such a successful event.

These regional meetings provide a valuable opportunity to connect, share industry insights and discuss the issues and opportunities impacting hospitality businesses across the region.
