How good’s footy?
The AFL Inclusion season has officially wrapped for another year with the 2026 Toyota AFL Open.
The epic showcase event included:
• Inclusion division annual competition for people aged 16+ with intellectual disability (Men’s and Women’s divisions)
• Wheelchair division annual competition
• Blind and Low Vision exhibition match
Energy levels were high as the competition kicked off.
APM had plenty of skin in the game as a proud partner of two of the participating states:
• SANFL Disability Programs Inclusion Men’s and Women’s Teams
• WA All Abilities Football (WAAAFA) Inclusion Men’s and Women’s Teams, and their Wheelchair Team
It was a thrill to watch our teams go head-to-head.
After three full days on the field, SANFL’s Women’s Inclusion Team finished the carnival in fourth place.
The SANFL’s Inclusion Men’s Team made it to the Division 1 Grand Final, before succumbing to Victoria.
WAAAFA’s APM Wheelchair and Men’s team played hard, and tackled harder, finishing fourth overall in the comp.
Finally, we reached the Women’s Inclusion Division Grand Final match.
WAAAFA’s Women’s team won, officially claiming the inaugural premiership for the state women’s competition.
What a way to wrap up the season!
We’re incredibly proud to be able to support these amazing teams to play the sport they love with their community.
