Amanda from Cheltenham had noticed a small snake pop out of the seatbelt hole of her Mercedes convertible, she rang 3AW and I was called by fellow snake catcher Tim Nanninga and another friend which heard it on the radio after searching with a camera I noticed a braided wire which ended up being a snake skin , this little green tree snake had traveled from up North and had been hitching a ride for the last 2 weeks , after a good hr and a few tricks I noticed a small tail pop out , swiftly grabbing it before it took off again .
This is one of the trickiest jobs you can get especially with a snake this small , green tree snakes are not venomous but still would give you a bit of a fright if you were driving along and it popped out

#2 Eastern Brown 🐍 for the season , very rare for us catchers down Melb Sth east to get a call for these snakes , this one was translocated in a waste water tanker and and was spotted by the company owner , now in the hands of the wildlife shelter and will possibly be transferred to a wildlife sanctuary to spend its remaining time as it can’t be released back to the wild as we have no idea where it come from .
I reckon it was happy to see me after swimming around in the muddy cold water destined for a certain death

Sorrento tiger snake
When I arrived it was sunning itself on top of the woodpile , as soon as I approached it it took off like a rocket , the bottom of the pile was supported by bessa bricks which makes a perfect hide for a snake , fortunately I was right and it was in the 5th last brick the little prick
Best to keep wood piles off the ground and high enough to see underneath

All the tools out today trying to get this copperhead snake out from a retaining wall seen slither in just moments before arrived , only to discover there’s aggi pipe running all different directions behind there and in the yard , smoke machine failed , flushing water failed all we can do now is wait for him to reappear, unfortunately there are days where we spend a lot of time without success 🥲

Here’s some of the snakes I relocated today 3 tigers 2 copperheads all from residential addresses and some difficult gardens to deal with
Great work from all the clients taking the advice given till I arrived , areas Cranbourne Sth , Langwarrin , Tyabb , Botanic Ridge , Cranbourne West , all relocated safely away from human and animal interaction

Had a call for this big old Lace Monitor out in Tynong North today with a suspected sore or dragging leg , upon arrival it was just soaking up the rays , full of life once I approached it and all 4 legs in good working condition, clients were happy for it to released back under the house where it’s believed to residing along with a big fat wombat spotted under there also

A heated up little tiger out at Langwarrin this morning , they kept there eyes on it till I arrived and was removed safely , also gave advice on prevention as there so close to the Fauna reserve

Here’s some pics of some snakes I caught over the last few days in East Gippsland , using the camera for trouble areas is great but flushing a snake out can be very difficult this one taking 2hrs 40 min to get the hint to come out , was too close to a bathing pool and had to be removed , another tiger in a feed bag that wasn’t tied up in a shed , and a black snake in a shed wanting to sun itself in front of the owner , and a site inspection in Orbost uncovering a snake skin under a concrete slab with the camera but no snake found , another Tiger in Paynesville but was dead on arrival
Back in Melbourne now to help keep the sth east safer 🐍

Sometimes snake catching just doesn’t go your way , this little copperhead slipped thru my fingertips and straight into the agapanthus, like that he disappeared , I could not believe it , a 3 minute job turned into a hour and half gym session digging the little s**t out
Finally finding it in the soil curled up 🙏🏻
Agapanthus have a tunnel system in there roots and are a snake catchers worst nightmare
And people often ask .. do we charge for our services!!!

Tooradin Tiger snake
Caught this afternoon, snakes are very active at the moment even with this unpredictable weather
Be careful with overgrown gardens where this one was found after sunning itself on a pathway and nearly stepped on it retreated to the garden
