Site prep is complete at our West Hobart project with the footings due to be poured this week. The substantial extension steps down from the existing four room cottage. Previous rear additions have been removed but an existing chimney retained - this will be flanked by windows above window seats and a feature in the new living room.

Designed as a ‘spec home’, our Sorell project was recently sold by Warren Lashmar / Elders Tasmania of Elders Real Estate. We tried to balance solar gain and limited available views with considered window placement. The efficient layout includes 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open plan living, a double garage and room to park a boat down the side.

Only a few weeks away from handover at our Adventure Bay project. This family holiday home is set amongst mature gum trees, some of which were felled and the timber used for joinery.

I’m not just running for Council and also projects, this month I’m riding for charity!

I’m aiming to ride 800km during October as part of the Great Cycle Challenge. All funds raised go towards the Children’s Medical Research Institute to help develop treatments and find cures for childhood cancers.

This is my 10th year participating, and it’s always inspiring to see so many riders across the country raising money for such an important cause.

Rivulet Revival, South Hobart.
Completed 2019.

The polished concrete slab provides thermal mass, raises the floor above the flood level to the adjacent timber floor, and makes for a great space to ride bikes inside!

Nearing completion of our Kettering project. The timber-clad living projects out to capture the northern sun and provide undercover parking, while the bedrooms stretch along the contours for morning sun and water views.

After much deliberation and many conversations, I have decided to stand for local council. I grew up in the Channel and call Kingborough home.

I’m standing because I believe our community wants fresh voices, genuine engagement, and sensible, future-focused planning that protects what makes this place special.

I will advocate for connected communities, represent both rural and metropolitan areas, and support local asset renewal, grassroots sport and community groups.

Don’t worry - AKA will continue to deliver community sports projects and economical, sustainable housing.
