At Small Wonder, Head Chef Konstantin Putkin leads a kitchen shaped by the land, the seasons and the people who grow and raise our food. Working closely with local producers, we champion hyper-local ingredients, practise whole-animal butchery and take a considered approach to minimising waste, respecting the provenance of every ingredient and making the most of what the land provides.⁠

The Farmer's Table is an expression of this philosophy. An evening celebrating the provenance of our ingredients, the craft behind each dish and the natural connection between food and w**e.⁠

We were delighted to welcome lifelong local Owen Broad to the kitchen alongside Head Chef Konstantin as Sous Chef.

Now well into our journey at the new restaurant, Owen’s passion for cooking, w**e and fermentation is clear. So too is his strong connection to local producers, many of whom he also calls mates.

Spring across our Tamar and Coal River Valley vineyards.⁠

As the vines move back into active growth, the season begins to take shape across two distinct parts of Tasmania.⁠
⁠
Having vineyards in both regions gives us the opportunity to work with different growing conditions, varieties and expressions of fruit. It also means spring never arrives in quite the same way across both sites, keeping our vineyard team busy as we move towards another vintage.

At Small Wonder, our menus reflect the changing seasons and the produce available from our growers and local suppliers. Here's what to expect when you visit.

▪️ Monday – Wednesday | Garden Menu
A relaxed, à la carte menu served inside our restaurant.
11am–3.30pm. Bookings and walk-ins welcome.

▪️ Thursday – Sunday | Restaurant Menu
A seasonal set menu showcasing the best of the region.
11.30am–2pm. Reservations recommended.

Our Garden Menu is also available outdoors from Thursday to Sunday, weather permitting. Walk-ins only.
