As Indigenous Business Month 2026 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a month filled with connection, celebration and plenty of yarns. 💜🧡

This year’s theme, Local and Connected, captured what we see every day—the strength, capability and impact of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses within our local communities.

Throughout October, we have had the privilege of sharing local business stories, creating new connections and coming together at the sixth annual Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday First Nations Business Expo.

Thank you to every business owner, entrepreneur, community member, partner and supporter who took part, shared their story and helped make the month so special.

While Indigenous Business Month provides an important opportunity to shine a light on First Nations businesses, supporting, engaging and creating opportunities for Indigenous businesses matters all year round.

Queensland Trading Tracks is proud to continue supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses across the Mackay and Isaac regions to connect, grow and explore new opportunities.

7 NIGHTS ON. 7 DAYS OFF. HOME EVERY DAY.
Want the lifestyle benefits of a mining roster without having to leave town?
VEX Group is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Boilermakers interested in joining our Mackay workshop team on a 7/7 nightshift roster.
We're looking to build a small crew of Boilermakers who want a great work-life balance, consistent workshop work and the opportunity to enjoy a full week off every fortnight!

✅ 7 Nights On / 7 Days Off – Work half the year and enjoy a full 7 days off every swing!

WHAT'S THE PLAN?
We're taking Expressions of Interest with the aim of putting together a crew of 3 experienced Boilermakers to establish this nightshift roster.
Estimated start date January.
Once we've identified three suitable candidates, we'll work together to agree on a commencement date that suits everyone.
This is a great opportunity for Boilermakers who might be interested in making a change but need some flexibility around when they can start.
