Ever wonder exactly what happens to your documents after we collect them?

We get asked this a lot — and honestly, it's a great question. You're handing over sensitive information and trusting us to handle it properly. You should know exactly what that looks like.
Here's the full process, start to finish.

We place locked, tamper-proof bins at your premises — 120L or 240L depending on your needs. They're cleaned and disinfected before every visit, and they stay locked until the moment of destruction. Nobody opens them in transit.

Our team is police-checked. Every vehicle is GPS tracked. From the moment we collect your documents, there's a clear chain of custody all the way through.

Everything is destroyed at our secure, restricted-access facility using SCEC-approved equipment — the same standard required by Australian government agencies. The entire process is conducted under surveillance.

Once it's done, you receive a Certificate of Destruction. That's your official record that the job was completed — useful for compliance, audits, or simply your own peace of mind.

And then every skerrick of shredded paper goes to recycling. Nothing wasted.

That's the Proshred process. No guesswork. No gaps. Just a clean, documented result every time.

We'd love to help your business sort this out — call us on 0412 863 248 or send us a message to get started.

What part of the process matters most to you — the security side, the compliance paperwork, or something else? 👇

GPs, Specialists, Physios, Psychologists — this one's for you.
Patient privacy doesn't end when the file is closed.

You already know how seriously the Privacy Act and state health legislation take the handling of patient information. But a lot of practices don't realise that the obligation doesn't stop at storage — it extends all the way through to how those records are destroyed once their retention period is up.

Putting patient files in a general waste bin or recycling isn't compliant. It's a risk. And in healthcare, the consequences of a privacy breach go well beyond a fine.

We work with medical and allied health practices across Sydney and the Blue Mountains to make this completely straightforward.

Our team collects your confidential records in tamper-proof locked bins, destroys everything at our secure facility using SCEC-approved equipment, and issues you a Certificate of Destruction for every single job — your documented proof of compliance, ready when you need it.

Police-checked staff. GPS-tracked vehicles. No shortcuts.

If your practice has a backlog of old patient files, referrals, or administrative records that are ready to go — send us a message or call 0412 863 248. We'll take care of it properly.

Does your practice have a process in place for document destruction, or is it something that just gets put off? 👇

Running out of room at home or in the office?

If you’ve got confidential paperwork such as client files, tax returns, financial or medical records older than seven years, it’s a good time to book a Proshred collection and reclaim that space.

Shredding those documents destroys them securely so nobody can use them for fraud, and frees up valuable storage where you need it. A simple win-win.

Accountants, Mortgage Brokers, Financial Planners — this one's for you.

You spend your days protecting your clients' money. But what about the paper trail that comes with it? Old loan files. Completed tax returns. Payslips. Trust deeds. Client correspondence from five years ago sitting in a box in the back office.

Under Australian law, financial professionals are required to hold certain records for up to seven years. That's a long time. And when that obligation ends, simply putting those documents in the recycling bin isn't good enough — not when they contain your clients' financial details, signatures, and personal information.
One box in the wrong hands is all it takes.

We work with accountants and financial professionals right across Sydney and the Blue Mountains to make this easy. Tamper-proof bins, police-checked team, SCEC-approved destruction, and a Certificate of Destruction for your records when the job is done.

If you've got a backlog of files that are overdue for secure destruction — give us a call on 0412 863 248 or send us a message.

We'll sort it out without any fuss.

What's the oldest document currently sitting in your office? 👇

Quick question — do you actually know how long you're legally required to keep your documents?
Most people either hold onto everything forever (hello, filing cabinet from 2009) or chuck things out too early without realising the risk. Neither is great.
Here's a simple guide for Australian businesses and individuals:

Tax returns and ATO records — 5 to 7 years
Business financial records — 7 years
Employee and payroll records — 7 years
Patient and medical records — 7 years or more

Old bank statements and personal records — shred when you're done with them.

Once those periods are up, keeping documents isn't just unnecessary — it's actually a liability. The longer sensitive paperwork sits around, the more exposure you have to identity theft, data breaches, and privacy obligations you may not even know you're carrying.

The fix is simple. We collect, shred and recycle — and hand you a Certificate of Destruction so you've always got proof it was done properly.
