The 10 Year Club celebrations continue! 🎉

Following our recent WA lunch, it was Victoria’s turn to bring together our long-standing team members for their annual 10 Year Club celebration.

Each year, the lunch recognises those who have reached 10 or more consecutive years with Structerre and provides an opportunity to catch up, celebrate the milestone and reflect on the many years, projects and experiences shared along the way.

Seeing our 10 Year Club continue to grow across the country is a great reflection of the experience and knowledge within our teams, and the long careers so many people have built with Structerre.

This month we’re celebrating an incredible 15 years with the business for Sarah! 🎉

Sarah started her journey with Structerre 15 years ago as an Administrator in the Residential Certifications division. Back then, her days involved plenty of printing, hand-stamping and scanning engineering drawings for clients - long before the automated processes we have in place today! She then went on to become Administration Team Leader, before starting her career in the Executive Support space. Today, Sarah is our Executive Assistant to CEO, John Gelavis.

Throughout her 15 years, Sarah has earned a reputation for being the person who is easy to approach and who always comes through with what is needed. The knowledge and experience she has built over the years is invaluable, and highly respected by her colleagues across the entire business.

Outside of work, Sarah is a family girl through and through. She loves spending quality time with her fiancè and daughter, and is currently spending most of her spare time wedding planning!

Congratulations on 15 years, Sarah! Thank you for everything you bring to the business, we are so lucky to have you.

Are Compliance Inspections Only Needed for New Homes?

While compliance inspections are common on new homes, they can also play an important role in renovations, extensions, custom homes and some commercial projects.

Any project involving structural work or important construction stages may benefit from a review before work becomes concealed. This could include new footings for an extension, suspended concrete slabs, altered roof framing, masonry walls or waterproofing within renovated wet areas.

The need for an inspection depends on the project scope, engineering documentation, approval requirements and the type of work being completed.

Renovation projects can sometimes involve additional complexity because new work must connect with an existing structure. Site conditions may differ from what was expected, original construction details may not be fully documented, and access can be more restricted than on a new build.

Congratulations Marlene, on 10 years with Structerre!

Today we are celebrating Marlene, on a wonderful 10 years with our Mitcham team! Over the past decade, Marlene has established herself as an outstanding engineer, combining her wealth of experience with a genuine dedication to supporting those around her. She has built fantastic relationships with our clients and is always willing to share her knowledge, support her colleagues and mentor the next generation of junior engineers. We’re incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed over the past 10 years.

If you know Marlene, you’ll know she LOVES pink! 💕 Her desk is a pretty strong indication of that, with almost everything pink – including her very own personal teapot 🫖 💖 Marlene is also one of our go-to people for advice on where to eat around the office! She clearly knows a thing or two about style too - for her 30th birthday, Marlene treated herself to the most stylish pair of Gucci sneakers, which she is still rocking today!

Congratulations again, Marlene! Thank you for your dedication and here’s to 10 fantastic years!
