Long before bottling, blending trials begin in the winery. Individual barrels are regularly tasted, assessed and compared as they mature, each developing its own personality over time.
Some barrels may bring texture and richness, others freshness, tension or aromatics. The role of blending is to understand how these different elements work together and how they can create something greater than the sum of their parts.
Throughout maturation, our winemaking team conducts blending trials, testing different combinations and proportions to explore how the wine evolves and where the greatest balance can be found.
It's a process of patience, observation and refinement, one that can take months before the final blend is selected.
Because great wine isn't simply grown in the vineyard. It's carefully shaped through a series of considered decisions along the way.
