Dear Friends, Families, and Community Members,

As many of you know, Les Roudoudous Daycare is currently navigating major building upgrades in order to remain open.

While this journey has been incredibly difficult, the support from our community has reminded us how much love and care exists.

We are organizing a Community Garage Sale on June 20th as a fundraiser to help support the daycare and offset renovation costs.

We are currently looking for:

- Good condition garage sale donations
- Gift card donations for bake goods sale and hot dogs
- Empty bottle donations
- Volunteer help for setup, cleanup, and installation work of the flooring and other updates.

If you would like to participate in the garage sale with your own items, we are asking for a 50/50 split on sold items to help support the centre.

We are also looking for :
- Flooring materials + install as we now have to upgrade the flooring in the building, install a new fire alarm system and the other structural work should also be taken care of.

Every contribution, whether through time, materials, donations, or simply sharing our message, helps us continue fighting to keep this childcare centre open for local families. If we can't meet the targets, we will be forced to close.

Our daycare is the most special place! Let’s save our daycare!

We are a village and this is 11 years of teaching, learning, laughing, crying and everything else! Over 300 families I welcomed into my house and new daycare.

Our special employees who has been there every steps of the way, not giving up on me nor the daycare means the world.

My heart has felt heavy, but I know there is sn entire community behind us ❤️

CALLING FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT - Saving our childcare centre one jar at a time ✨

We are launching a toxic-free aromatherapy play dough fundraiser to help support and save our daycare. Handmade with natural ingredients and scented with pure essential oils, each jar is created with love for little hands and big imaginations.

Back in October 2025, the city or Castlegar revoked our occupancy for the downstairs portion of our childcare centre after a new building inspector came in. At that time we had our permits, license and occupancy approved by the original inspector. Since then, this situation has caused an extremely significant financial loss for the daycare, extreme stress on everyone.

We have recently found an architect after month of researching to redo what was done by the original architect who is helping us create more realistic and feasible options for the upgrades required by the city in order to reopen the downstairs space and continue serving families in our community.

So far, we have already invested over $13,000 in architectural fees with the city, and the required upgrades are estimated to cost between $15 000 and $20,000 at most. At this point, continuing to financially carry these costs on my own is no longer possible.

Every jar purchased helps support local childcare spaces for families in our community ❤️

We are brainstorming with families fundraisers options that we will be sharing shortly.
