Sometimes making a difference starts right outside the office. 🌱

Yesterday, a group of Sofigators swapped their usual work for gloves and rubbish bags and headed out to tidy up the neighbourhood around our office.

The idea came from our own people, who had wished for more opportunities to take part in hands-on environmental activities. Our ESG team listened and made it happen. ❤️

We're lucky to work in a neighbourhood that's already pretty clean, so there were no mountains of rubbish waiting for us. But look a little closer, especially under bushes and deeper into the greenery, and there was still plenty to find: cigarette butts, wrappers and other rubbish that doesn't belong in nature.

A few hours and several bags later, our surroundings were a little cleaner and we'd spent a rather autumnal afternoon doing something useful together.

Not every act of environmental responsibility needs to be big to matter. Sometimes it's simply about noticing what's around you, rolling up your sleeves and taking care of the place you share with others.

Retail AI is getting real. 🤖

That was one of the clearest signals from ServiceNow Nordic Retail Day in Copenhagen.

The conversation is moving beyond what AI could do towards where it can actually improve retail operations, and what it takes to make that happen in practice.

Our Antti Mäkinen joined the programme to share the top five retail use cases we're seeing across the Nordics, drawing on 18 years of working alongside Nordic retailers and their transformation journeys.

And that experience matters. New technology keeps changing what's possible, but creating value still requires understanding the operation behind it: where the real bottlenecks are, which processes are worth changing and how technology can make everyday work better.

Throughout the day, customer stories brought that conversation to life, from practical AI adoption to visibility, security and connected operations.

Some things just work better in the same room. 💛

Our Poland team works together every day across cities, countries, Teams calls and customer projects. But there’s a different kind of connection that happens when everyone finally gets around the same table.

That’s what our Summer Summit in Kraków was really about.

We welcomed new colleagues, caught up after the summer and spent some much-needed time together away from our screens. Our Salesforce Stream Leader Mikko Hupli joined with colleagues from Finland and Swedwn, making the Summit a chance to reconnect not only as a local team, but as one Salesforce community across borders.

There were conversations about what’s ahead, workshops and presentations focusing on what's new and upcoming.

We also took time to celebrate the people making a difference.

⭐ Adrian Lewański was recognised for Technical Excellence and his willingness to step into a new challenge and support the team.

🚀 Wojciech Kowalczyk was recognised for Business Impact after an impressive start at Sofigate, from representing us at industry events to creating new initiatives of his own.

And a special thank you to Marcin Krzych for investing his time and experience in mentoring Anna Mari Koutroukides. Growth isn’t only about what we achieve ourselves – it’s also about helping others move forward.

Remote work gives us freedom and flexibility. Days like these remind us that relationships need space too. Sometimes that’s a project meeting. Sometimes it’s making pralines together. And apparently, sometimes it’s karaoke. 😉

What if, while trying to build the future, you realised you might be taking someone else's future away?

When our CEO Sami Karkkila opened yesterday's Youth AI showcase, he shared the question that started this journey.

A young person had asked him whether, as the CEO of a company working with AI, he was now helping take entry-level jobs away from young professionals.

Sami had always pictured himself more as Luke Skywalker or Han Solo – one of the rebels on the side of good. Had he somehow slipped towards the Dark Side without noticing? 🧐

That question demanded more than an answer.

So, we gave young professionals the opportunity, resources and freedom to investigate the changing world of work themselves – and a voice in shaping what comes next.

And what a job they have done. ❤️

Over six months, Jawahir Ahmed, Susanna Auramo, Olivia Krekula, Samuel Nousiainen, Eemil Saari and Vera Väänänen listened, challenged assumptions, experimented and ultimately turned their findings into four very real AI agents: Indy, Caio, Echo and Ray. 🤖🤖🤖🤖

Yesterday, they shared their work with a room full of people – and left us incredibly proud. 🥹

Their message is bigger than four AI agents: young people are already building the future of work. Are we ready to make room for them to learn, contribute and shape it?

Thank you also to Aleksi Halttunen, Janne Savolainen, Jasper Siitari and Aada Kervinen for continuing that conversation in our closing panel, moderated by Vera.

The six-month initiative may be ending, but the work isn't.

We'll keep finding ways to give young people a voice and an opportunity to shape the future they will inherit.

You have new employees, but HR didn't hire them.

These employees don't have job descriptions, they haven't been trained in the proper ways of working, and in many cases, no one is clearly responsible for managing them.

Did you already guess who we're talking about? Yes, these are AI agents.

Across organisations, employees are already building agents that perform real work, and he innovation is happening fast. But as Viet Pham argues, the structures around the change haven't always kept up.

This is not just an AI challenge, but a leadership challenge. Just like a human employee, a digital colleague needs a clear mandate, the right access, training and feedback, and someone accountable for its quality and development.

AI agents are already entering our organisations and now we need to learn how to lead them.

What if finding your first job started with discovering your strengths – not just writing a CV?

That is the question Vera Väänänen and Eemil Saari explored on Huomenta Suomi together with Sofigate's Head of AI, Aleksi Halttunen, as they shared the progress of the Impossible? Possible initiative.

Over the past four months, a team of six young talents has been using AI to tackle one of society's biggest challenges: youth unemployment.

The result is much more than a collection of AI tools.

They have built an extensive library of AI agents that support job seekers throughout their journey. From identifying personal strengths and hidden talents to practising job interviews and improving applications, the goal is simple: help more young people take their next step with confidence.

The project also proves something important.

When young people are trusted with solving real problems, they don't just learn new skills. They create solutions that can help others do the same.

A huge thank you to Vera, Eemil, Aleksi and the entire team for showing what becomes possible when curiosity, technology and purpose come together.

What a time we had at SuomiAreena last week. 😍

From inspiring keynote speeches to thought-provoking panel discussions, one thing became clear: the conversations shaping the future are no longer just about technology. They're about leadership, trust and people.

It was a pleasure to join this year's SuomiAreena together with Haaga-Helia and take part in the panel discussion The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of AI. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation and shared your perspectives.

One of the event's highlights was hearing former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speak about trust, leadership and navigating a rapidly changing world. His keynote was a timely reminder that while technology continues to evolve at pace, trust remains the foundation for meaningful change.

At Sofigate, we believe the same applies to AI. The real challenge isn't the technology itself. It's how we lead organisations, redesign work and create value together with people.
