Scarification removes the build-up of dead grass and thatch, helping air, water and nutrients reach the soil — and this was all removed from just one lawn!

This lawn needed more than just a feed… 🌱
Sometimes a lawn reaches the point where another treatment simply isn’t enough.
For this one we carried out a full renovation — scarification to remove the dead material, aeration to open up the soil, pre-seed fertiliser, overseeding and top dressing, followed by a thorough watering.
Now we give the new grass seed time to germinate and establish.
As a local, independent family-run business, we can look at each lawn individually rather than following a one-size-fits-all national treatment programme.

🌱 THINK YOUR LAWN IS DEAD?

After the summer we’ve had, we’re seeing plenty of lawns across North Hampshire looking brown, thin and badly stressed.

The good news is that brown doesn’t necessarily mean dead.

Early autumn gives us an excellent opportunity to help struggling lawns recover. Depending on what your lawn actually needs, that could include scarification, aeration, overseeding and top dressing.

We’re proudly local, independent and family-run. That means we don’t follow a national treatment calendar or recommend exactly the same programme for every lawn.

We look at your lawn, our local conditions and the weather here in North Hampshire, and recommend what we believe it actually needs.

We now have just 4 full renovation dates remaining during September and October.

November availability is for aeration only.

Following scarification and aeration, we applied premium grass seed with an organic top dressing to help this badly damaged lawn recover.

After weeks of hot, dry weather, we’re seeing severe drought stress across lawns throughout North Hampshire.
🌱 The good news? Brown doesn’t necessarily mean dead.
Grass can become dormant during prolonged dry conditions as a natural survival mechanism. With cooler temperatures and rainfall returning, some lawns can recover surprisingly well.
Others will need a little help.

During drought periods we apply liquid fertiliser with added seaweed to help pe*****te to the root system which will aid stressed dormant lawns in survival mode.

During sustained periods of heat and drought the grass plant ceases production of chlorophyll (this is what makes grass green) and divert all available reserves to its roots, this is a natural defence system as the grass moves to survival mode.

Grass is amazing, it is resilient to many things, indeed in the extreme warm dry weather the grass plant will conserve energy within the root system and await water/ rain fall.
