As part of Sussex Innovation's 30th anniversary celebrations, we launched our AccelerateTech competition to support an ambitious deep tech business with a ยฃ20K acceleration package, including a year of free office space, expert consultancy, and access to our Tech Accelerator programme.

After an incredibly competitive process and an inspiring showcase from our finalists, we're delighted to announce that Spectomiq has been selected as the winner of AccelerateTech 2026๐ŸŽ‰

Founded by Thomas Coussens and Fedja Orucevic, Spectomiq is a pre-spin-out from the University of Sussex developing quantum magnetic sensing systems that can be deployed in real-world environments. Their innovative technology, strong commercial potential, and ambitious vision impressed our judging panel and made them a standout choice for this year's award.

We recently welcome the South East Regional Research Delivery Network (part of NIHR) to our Sussex Innovation community!โคต๏ธ

For the last two decades, NIHR has transformed the health and care research landscape, funding, enabling, and driving life-changing research for the health and wealth of the nation. Every study it funds aims to improve health outcomes. From faster diagnoses to better treatments and improved quality of care, NIHR research has changed lives across the UK.

The NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) supports health and care organisations across England to deliver research in hospitals, primary care, and community settings. It does this through funding, training, and practical support for study delivery via its Agile Research Delivery Teams.

The RDN also supports researchers in academia, research charities and the life sciences industry to find the right places and tools to deliver their research across England.

We're delighted to have their team as part of our community and look forward to supporting their important work!๐Ÿš€
