Home made Dandelion Honey…
Celebrating and the
Supporting the children to harvest 200 dandelions to the process of creating this gorgeous treat and tasting it on toast …what better way than learning through play as the children see the beauty of the world around them and how this can be captured in such a lovely opportunity.
Decorating the mini honey pots with yellow painted finger prints turned into bees gave the children a chance to share not only their homemade honey with their family but the journey they enjoyed to create this 🍯

We all know Ely and the surrounding villages are great places to be. We wanted to shine a light on the heroes in our wonderful community.

Busy hands …busy minds 🌸
unlocking little minds, one creative step at a time …
The children use their hands for so much …but often we just don’t give our sensory learning enough credit …comparing the sizes of the children’s hands as we drew around them for templates, sticking these to card to decorate as stems of flowers after we looked in books at pictures of flowers as well as exploring real flowers gave children first hand experiences. Using hands to hold vases to paint and decorate with ladybirds was so beautiful to see the ‘have a go’ attitude the children displayed and their resilience at times during the few weeks we enjoyed to complete this artwork to give as gifts to Mummies filled me with pride 🌸

Happy Mother’s Day to all our beautiful Mums 🩷

Reflections of January as we are in the final few days and look back on all we have achieved in those first few weeks back to our new term after Christmas…and look forward to more meaningful learning through play…with so much more to come, I am so proud of my little people and their growth in confidence, empathy, resilience, tenacity, kindness, patience and uniqueness…every one valued for who they are and championed for their individuality.

February is the month of Love with so much more to look forward to in supporting learning and development for all ages and stages in our little home based setting 🩷

My 25th Christmas as a childminder and my little people never cease to amaze me as to their ability to create some beautiful art pieces to share with there families …every year as we enter the month of November, I endeavour to capture the children’s interests through expressive art and design …those who enjoy painting …those who are not keen to get ‘painty’ …those who enjoy exploring in soil and have a love for the outdoors…those who get so excited when we bake and cook…those who love the finer, more intricate art projects …many interests and so many varying ages and stages of ability but it has been totally inspiring for me to see how each and every one of my Sweet Peas has participated with such enthusiasm, and excitement to explore and achieve…

This year I made a choice to favour process over product, where the children could take the lead in many of the activities and opportunities, learn through trial and error, social interaction with each other and where there was no prescribed outcome. We also had time to enjoy craft sessions too where children loved to sit together and create some special keepsakes to share with their families …

Well done for all you have achieved this term …
I’m so proud of every one of my 🎄❤️
