Staveley's major transformation is complete 🎉

Staveley 21, a large project aimed at rejuvenating Staveley's town centre is now ready to welcome visitors.

The pavilion building is a new landmark, which will house Staveley Library on the ground floor and a business on the first floor.

Plus a new sculpture, which was created by artist Coralie Turpin and draws inspiration from the Cuckoo Boats that were unique to the Chesterfield Canal.

But, the newness doesn't stop there. The square also includes:
🔹 New feature paving
🔹 New lighting
🔹 New seating and planting
🔹 New CCTV
🔹 New play area

Different aspects of the project can now help the community at all stages of their life and encourage more time in the town centre, supporting local businesses.

What makes Chesterfield a great place to live?

We asked our Chesterfield Champions to share what they love about living and working in our town.

Three themes kept popping up:
🏘️ Affordability - Accessible housing and lower operational costs are crucial and help to relieve extra stress.

🫂 Community and local connection - This is why we're one of Britain's happiest places to live, according to Rightmove.

🌳 Green spaces - Access to walks, parks, and the Peak District puts us in the UK's top 20 greenest towns.
