It feels ceremonial to even step into the wooden carved Durbar Hall, it’s such a sacred space for meditation & rest. It’s as much an instrument as my own instruments and it’s resonant acoustics create a cocoon of words, sound and most importantly stillness.

The dark moon is the astrological term for the last few days of the waning crescent moon before the next new lunar cycle, the side of the moon we see is not lit by the sun, it seems to sleep encouraging us into rest, introspection and seek our own inner illumination. It invites us to release before the new cycle begins...

The ancients honoured the wild ways of the Jaguar, summoning it’s spirit to align with its power, driven by the beat of the Shamans drum.

The primal beat of the drum stirs the blood, it stirs the spirit and aligns us to the pulse of earth.

In the depths of the mountains of Las Alpujarras & the pine scented hills of Le Marche wise shamanic teachers spoke to me in my 20s of the ceremony of the 4 sacred directions of the medicine wheel and how it is to be shared ritually with others only once you are into your 4th decade of study and overall apprenticeship of life , when you have lived, lost and risen.

As someone in my 4th decade now of sharing, ongoing learning and living, I am often messaged by those unable to travel to me for sessions for advice on finding practitioners and rituals etc

We are now in an age where anyone can access a short online course and then hold an event, denouncing the value of time honoured learning from elders in real face to face time over a long time.

So the best way to source someone who is rooted in experience is to find out more about their study and process.

& SunSeason, their first collection of seasonal botanicals in collaboration with herbalist igniting a reconnection to nature through sensory ritual with beautiful tinctures, elixirs & herbal infusions.

SunSeason is rooted in the Linden tree with some of my favourite herbs ~ nettles, cleavers, yarrow, lemon verbena, chamomile and rose to uplift, energise and calm through the transition into spring & summer.

Hastings Jack in the green, our curious folkloric rite of spring by the sea, a revival since 1983 of the old ways, luring more and more each year.

If you were a bird flying over Hastings, you’d see the procession winding its way through the town like a serpent.

It’s tribal, the green, the drums… You feel it. An explosion of green smoke, creature folk, dancing mushrooms and everything and everyone else in green running wild to the beat.
