That’s a wrap on the 2026 Holyhead Cruise Ship Programme! 🚢

Early mornings, late nights, long days and plenty of challenges overcome, but another incredible cruise season here in Holyhead has come to an end.

For the fourth year running, Dragon Security has been proud to play our part in supporting Holyhead’s growing cruise industry, working alongside the many teams and organisations involved in making each cruise call safe, welcoming and a success.

Throughout the 2026 season, approximately 47,612 cruise passengers arrived into Holyhead. Of those, Dragon Security helped to welcome, direct and support around 16,654 passengers who came ashore and explored Holyhead and what Anglesey has to offer.

For many passengers, stepping ashore in Holyhead is their first impression of Anglesey and North Wales, and we're incredibly proud to be part of that experience. Helping visitors find their way, answering questions, offering assistance and, above all, giving them a warm Welsh welcome.

A massive thank you to our Dragon Security team for the dedication, professionalism and hard work they've shown throughout another busy season.

And thank you to everyone behind the scenes, port teams, cruise operators, agents, local businesses, transport providers and everyone else who works together to make the process run seamlessly.

🕯️In Remembrance, September 11, 2001 🕯️

Today marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks.

We pause to remember all those who lost their lives, the families and loved ones left behind, the survivors, and everyone whose lives were forever changed by the events of that day.

We also remember the extraordinary courage of the emergency services, security personnel and countless others who put the safety of others before their own.

For those of us working within Security, this significant anniversary is also an opportunity to reflect on how much has changed in the industry over the past 25 years. It reminds us of the lessons that have shaped modern security, the advances that have been made in protecting the public, and the need to remain vigilant and continually evolve as threats and risks change.

Security is an ever-changing responsibility. We must continue to learn, prepare, adapt and work together to protect the people, places and communities entrusted to our care.

To every member of the Dragon Security team, and to our colleagues throughout the wider security industry, thank you for the professionalism, vigilance and commitment you demonstrate in carrying out that responsibility.

Today, however, above all else, is a day of remembrance.

25 years on, we remember. We reflect. We will never forget. 🕯️

🚢 2 cruises visited today 😁

Today we welcomed the passengers and crew of two cruise ships to Holyhead port. 💪🏻

The first is the Saga Cruise Ship Spirit of Adventure. Currently on a 10 day tour of the British Isles.

The second, is the Viking Vela. Whose passengers are currently on a 12 day cruise from Bergen to London-Tilbury.

We hope everyone who came ashore from the two ships enjoyed themselves visiting our special part of the world.

Yr ail yw’r Viking Vela. Mae ei theithwyr ar hyn o bryd ar fordaith 12 diwrnod o Bergen i Lundain-Tilbury.

Gobeithiwn fod pawb a ddaeth i’r lan o’r ddwy long wedi mwynhau eu hamser yn ymweld â’n rhan arbennig ni o’r byd.

🧸 NAME THE TEDDY – WE HAVE ANOTHER WINNER! 🧸

As part of Dragon Security’s ongoing fundraising for Anglesey Autism Group, we recently teamed up with Clares Shoes and Barbaras Bags in Holyhead for our Name the Teddy fundraiser. 💙

A huge thank you to Clare’s Shoes, who managed to sell EVERY SINGLE NAME on the sheet! 👏

Once the sheet was full, the hidden panel was scratched off and the teddy’s winning name was revealed as…

🧸 HUNTER! 🧸

The person who had chosen HUNTER was BIDDIG – congratulations! 🎉

However, Biddig has very kindly decided that she would like the teddy to be regifted to another person on the sheet or raffled again to raise even more money. ❤️

After giving it some thought, we decided to give everyone who supported the original fundraiser another chance to win. We’ve got plenty of different fundraising ideas coming up, so rather than raffle the teddy again, we wanted to keep things fresh!

We put all the names from the original sheet into a random generator and the name selected was…

Summer Season continues for Dragon. 🐉☀️

Today our team were on hand to provide security as we welcomed over 2,100 passengers & crew from Carnival Cruise Line’s Legend! 🛡️⚓

It was fantastic to see the town welcoming visitors from around the world as they arrived in Holyhead to explore everything our beautiful island has to offer. 😁

Our team worked throughout the visit to help ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for passengers, crew and everyone involved.

We hope all our visitors enjoyed their time on Anglesey and experienced some of the incredible scenery, culture and hospitality the island has to offer.
