Sharing this story, together we can raise much needed funds for this wonderfil charity Tommy's
15 week old Parker will be fundraising in memory of big brother Hunter this Sensathon with Baby Sensory Walsall & Cannock. Here mum Louise shares their story…
“I will always be so grateful to Tommy’s for the support they’ve given my family during the hardest time in our lives.
We began our pregnancy journey in September 2023. By December, we were heartbroken to learn we had experienced an early miscarriage. It was an incredibly difficult way to start our journey, and we felt such deep loss.
In March, we found out I was pregnant again — a moment filled with hope and joy. Everything seemed to be going well, and for 36 weeks we believed we were growing a healthy baby boy. Then our world changed. We were told that our son had a complex heart defect and would be very poorly.
Hunter was born at 38 weeks, weighing 6lbs 6oz. He was absolutely perfect — the image of his daddy in every way. We treasured every second with him. After just 48 hours, we were given the devastating news no parent should ever have to hear. His condition was so severe that we were faced with an unimaginable decision… to say goodbye.
Tommy’s was recommended to me by my bereavement midwives, and their support has been incredible. Their Facebook community, where parents can connect and share their experiences, has helped me more than words can say.
When I later became pregnant with my daughter, my anxiety was overwhelming, but the team at my hospital — alongside the support from Tommy’s — were there every step of the way. They helped make an incredibly difficult journey feel a little more manageable.
Now, my daughter is fundraising through Baby Sensory in Hunter’s memory, to help support other families who may face similar heartbreak 💙
