Anyone else feeling slightly overwhelmed by how fast AI is moving right now?

Yesterday I was scrolling through updates and suddenly had that thought:

Am I going to fall behind if I cannot keep up with all of this?

I use AI a lot, but I still feel like I have only touched the tip of the iceberg.

New tools.
New agents.
New announcements every day.

Everyone sharing tips.
Everyone saying this changes everything.

It feels like technology has suddenly shifted into another gear.

But then I stopped and thought about it properly.

Most of us do not actually need to keep up with everything.

The companies building this technology are moving fast because that is their job.

Our job is different.

Our job is to run businesses, do meaningful work, and solve real problems, not chase every new tool that appears online.

A few things that help me keep perspective:

1. You do not need every AI tool
Most people will only end up using a small number that genuinely help them.

2. Real businesses move slower than technology
Customers do not adopt things overnight. Markets do not transform in a week. There is more time than the internet makes you believe.

3. Focus on outcomes, not tools
The goal is not to use AI. The goal is to do better work, solve problems faster, or save time.

4. The winners will not be the people who try everything
They will be the people who calmly adopt what genuinely helps.

Technology always looks chaotic in the middle of change.

Then eventually it settles.

Right now we are just living in the messy part.

Has anyone else felt this recently

I started building something a few months ago that I thought would be straightforward.

It wasn’t. 😅

What I thought would take a few weeks has taken way longer - not because I’ve been slacking, but because I’ve been trying to make it simple… and simple is hard.

It’s actually reminded me of when I was designing the weekly + daily planning layout for the MY PA Planner. That section took forever - but it ended up being the one people love most.

This feels like that. All over again.

I’m not quite ready to reveal what it is - but I can tell you it’s been one of the hardest things I’ve tried to make feel simple.

Here’s what the process has taught me so far -and why I’m still not ready to launch. 👇www.mypaplanner.com/blog/2025/6/17/simple-isnt-easy

🚨 Is it just me — or is the SATC reboot a brand disaster… and a business lesson in disguise?

They had the money.
They had the cast.
They had the whole world waiting.

And then — just like that — they lost the plot.

The original S*x and the City?
It had spark. Flaws. Chaos. Chemistry.
It was messy, magnetic, magical — and relatable.
It made you feel something.
It made you laugh — like, actually laugh.
It felt human.

I’ve only been to New York a few times on business,
but there’s a vibe to that city — and you could feel it through the screen.

This reboot though?
It feels like a nursery rhyme got lost in Manhattan.

In episode one, Carrie shows up dressed like Little Bo Peep. By episode two, she’s the Pied Piper — leading us through a city full of rats.
Miranda’s storyline? She’s hitting on waitresses and nuns.
And Aidan’s grand five-year plan?
We’ll all be collecting our pensions by then.

It’s not the cast. It’s not their age.
It’s the story. It’s the script.
Where are the original writers?
Hopefully still collecting royalties —
and quietly cringing too.

I’m no brand guru — but I have built one.
Bootstrapped. Self-funded.
And one thing I’ve learned?

Sometimes too much money makes things worse.
When you throw cash at something without soul, without story…
You get gloss. Not connection.

✅ You can have the brand.
✅ You can have the money.
✅ You can have a loyal audience.

But if the story’s not there?
People check out.
No amount of polish can fix that.

Lesson?
You can have all the money in the world —
but if the soul’s gone, the magic goes with it.

And maybe the bigger lesson?
Sometimes the thing people loved…
wasn’t the production value.
It was the story.
The authenticity.
The relatability.

I’ve actually been rewatching the originals — and the magic’s still there.
Right where they left it.

Did anyone actually enjoy it? Or are we all too polite to say it’s gone off the rails?

Signed, a sad fan who really wanted it to work

It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking you need to be extraordinary to win.

But the truth is, success comes from being consistent, doing the right things, and showing up every day.
