Sometimes, actors become frozen in time in our favourite films. We remember them as they were in those moments, and somehow imagine they will live forever.
And in a way, they do. Through their performances, their stories and the memories they leave with us, they become part of our lives.
Sir Patrick Stewart was a giant of our industry, with an extraordinary legacy on stage and screen.
What a loss.

With heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. ❤️

Good news Tuesday….

19/10/2026

On this autumnal Monday, do say hello to our newest Mia Thomson Talent Management family member, Pauline Whitaker 👋 🥳

Pauline Whitaker came to professional acting later in life, graduating from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in her (very) late 30s!
Since then, she’s enjoyed a varied career, with screen credits including Mammals, Coronation Street, Doctors, Pennyworth, EastEnders, Hard Sun, The Bill, as well as the very last episode of Only Fools and Horses.
Film work includes Typist Artist Pirate King, directed by Carol Morley and Far from the Madding Crowd directed by Thomas Vinterberg. This year she was in the brand-new vertical series, Raccoon, now on Instagram, playing Julia, one of the three lead roles.
Away from acting, she loves being a Grandma to her four grandchildren and finds time to enjoy her other interests including bellringing, embroidery, yoga and keeping fit (mainly to keep up with the grandchildren).

(Mia here… I met Pauline over a decade ago in Theatre and here we are!!!…)

BRIXTON CALLING
・・・
SIMON AND JOHNNY ARE BACK

We’re so excited to see Max Runham (Mother Courage, Shakespeare’s Globe) and Tendai Sitima (A Strange Loop, Barbican) reprise their roles as Simon Parkes and Johnny Lawes - and plenty of others too - when BRIXTON CALLING bursts back onto the Southwark Playhouse stage in January

We’ve spent a year building the show and the team - more to come on that - but these two will be back at their multi-role, multi-instrumentalist best

Tickets on sale now at the link in our bio; first night already almost totally sold out

Southwark Playhouse
・・・
The story behind the legend of the Brixton Academy returns to Southwark Playhouse Borough - bigger, bolder and more electric than ever.

In 1983, Simon Parkes bought a derelict Brixton cinema for just £1. Ten years later he had turned it into one of the world’s most iconic music venues.

Directed by Bronagh Lagan (Bronagh Mary Lagan) (‘Cruise’) and inspired by Parkes’ anarchic memoir ‘Live at the Brixton Academy’, this multi-award-winning show tells the story of The Academy through the people who were there, with music from The Clash, Blondie, Bob Marley, Bruce Springsteen, Fela Kuti, Billy Ocean, The Prodigy and more.

Part gig, part memoir, part fever dream, Brixton Calling is a wild and deeply personal story of music, friendship, ambition and rock ’n’ roll survival … insofar as anyone can remember it.

Brixton Calling | Southwark Playhouse Borough | 22 January - 13 March | Tickets available now 🎟️
