There are certain sentences I hear from business owners and immediately think… yep, we need to get some support in here 😂

The problem normally isn’t that you can’t do these things yourself, you absolutely can, it’s that you’re trying to run and grow a business while also doing the admin, answering every email, updating spreadsheets, creating content, chasing people, organising meetings and remembering approximately 736 things at once!

At some point, “I’ll just do it myself” stops saving time and starts costing you it. And you feel overwhelmed trying to juggle it all.

Which one are you guilty of saying? 👀

One of my favourite things about running a business as husband and wife, is that our kids get to see what we’re building along the way… even if sometimes they decide they’d quite like to take over! 💻

I spend so much of my time telling other business owners that they don’t have to do everything themselves… and last week I finally took some of my own advice! 😂

I took my first full week off in 18 months of building NLB. A whole week away from client work, emails, meetings and the usual day to day.

My laptop DID come with me but I didn’t use it for work once! Which I’m quite proud of!

I’ve put everything into growing the VA side of NLB over the last 18 months and I absolutely love what I’ve built but running a business alongside Mum life, home life and everything in-between, can be a lot. I definitely needed the break! 😍

One of the biggest reasons I was actually able to switch off was knowing I had an amazing Associate supporting me and the business while I was away ❤️

And it made me realise that this is exactly what we give our clients too. Delegating isn’t about losing control. It’s about having the right people around you so that everything doesn’t have to stop the second you step away. And so you can have a break and feel confident knowing everything is under control!

Because surely one of the reasons we build our own businesses in the first place is to create a life we actually get to enjoy?

I’ve come back refreshed, motivated, full of ideas and ready to get stuck back in… but I’m definitely NOT waiting another 18 months for the next proper break! 😂

Imagine sitting in a meeting without mentally running through all the things waiting for you when you get back.

No worrying about whether you replied to that email. No suddenly remembering the task you promised yourself you’d do three days ago. No checking your phone every five minutes because everything depends on you.

That’s what the right support can give you!

Not just completed tasks but the headspace to be fully present in the parts of your business that actually need you.

Sometimes, you just simply need another pair of hands.

The best investment I’ve made in my business…

Networking!

As business owners, it’s really easy to convince ourselves we’re “too busy” to step away from the laptop. I’ve been there. You tell yourself you’ll go next month, once things calm down. But they never really do and we don’t really want them to!

Some of my favourite opportunities have started with a conversation over a coffee, not an email. Out of the office and getting to know people.

People buy from people they know, like and trust. Networking gives people the chance to get to know the real you, long before they ever become a client.

If you’ve been putting networking off, this is your sign to book onto one! And if you’re a woman in business, I highly recommend !

Your inbox should be where conversations happen, not where your brain stores every task 📧

One of the biggest mindset shifts I help clients make is separating communication from work.

Every time you leave an email sitting there and say to yourself “I’ll deal with it later”, your brain quietly keeps hold of it and it takes up space in your mind! The mental clutter.

Instead, check your emails at set times, add actions to ONE to-do list and close your inbox and get back to work. Mute the notifications if you need to.

It’s a tiny habit that makes a massive difference.

So many business owners think they need to work longer hours, hustle harder or just suddenly become ‘more organised!’

But if you’re spending your days buried in emails, admin, scheduling, chasing invoices or updating spreadsheets, you’re stealing time from the things that actually grow your business. (Getting the balance is hard right!)

The goal isn’t to do more, it’s to spend more time doing what only you can do. The things you enjoy doing. The reason you started your business.

Absolutely. One less thing for you to think about means one more bit of headspace to focus on actually growing your business (or just finishing work before 8pm for once and maybe even taking a day off 😱!)

That’s exactly why we started Next Level. To take away the jobs that sit on your to-do list for weeks because you’ve got a million other things going on and everything feels equally important!

Running a business… No one really tells you about the constant decision making, the juggling act or how easy it is to convince yourself that you have to do everything alone.

These are just a few things I’ve learnt since starting Next Level Business Solutions and things I advise our clients!

If there’s one thing I’d love you take away from this, it’s that you don’t have to do everything yourself.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your business is ask for help or simply give yourself permission to stop trying to do it all (it’s hard, I know!)
