Freeman 22 'Smurf'
Afloat in Kingston
'Free to a new home' before disposal

'Smurf' Is a classic river cruiser, built in the late 1960's. She is a 4-berth cruiser with a shallow draft. She has a functioning toilet, a gas hob, and a sink. The upholstery is reported to be in a good/fair condition. Sadly she has been reported to have a faulty engine, suspected to be some sort of leak. Her engine is a perkins diesel engine. As seen in the photographs, she is also sadly missing her port front window.

Due to mooring fees being due, this boat will only be avaiable till the end of the month before she has to be taken away.

Due to owner circumstances this boat has been laid up since 2012/2013, however will not take long to make her a modern day superstar! Despite not starting for 12 years, the engine started in under 5 minutes last year. Subsequently started a few times on the first attempt. Her underside was stripped when she came out in in 2012, so ready for a new coating of antifoul by her future owner. She is reported to have good radio/AIS receiver with it’s remote cockpit station, GPS, depth, autohelm. The wind instruments however are reported to require attention. As expected for a boat unused for such a while, the running rigging is reported to want replacing in the near future, however the standing rigging was brand new in 2012 and has seen only about 100 miles use.

16ft 'Black Pig' Dinghy
Free to a new home
Ashore in Lowestoft

This is a 16ft Dinghy, with wooden features and mast. Her hull is believed to be FRP. She has been stored on a wheeled stand, and kept under cover for the past 5 years. Said to be good internal condition, hull gel-coat in good condition. From the photographs you can see that the top part of her mast sections may need some revarnishing. She comes with centreboard and sails.

This boat is reported to be similar to a Sandweaver dinghy; a 16ft dayboat with simulated clinker design. This could be an ideal little cruiser for anyone willing to put in the effort to keep her wooden features alive and well.

Unfinished project due to ill health of owner.

Hi all
We are happy to announce a collaboration between Responsible Boat Disposal and Boatshed.com, created to help owners of older or project boats give their beloved vessels a new lease of life through a sale by auction.

Today we offer this Halcyon 27 available in Plymouth, to be sold by an auction at
https://www.boatbid.com/boatbid_boat.php?auction=1677&boat=341032

Of long keel and tough construction, these yachts are more than capable of offshore cruising and are known for their good performance in all sea conditions.

The auction rules are pretty straightforward. Once you registered on the website, you can put your bid, and the highest bid wins. The boat can be viewed and surveyed before you have to pay in the full amount. Please check https://www.boatbid.com/boatbid/buying-a-boat for further details.

'Jofra' is a rather special little cabin cruiser, with only 3 owners since she was first bought over 40 years ago. Her original owner added the rear cabin (with a toilet compartment), separating her from other Buckingham boats. She comes with a 10hp Honda outboard with low hours and an electric start. Although working last year, it did not start up when coming back to her over the winter.

She comes with a compact, but well kitted galley. There is a gas hob/oven, countertop, and cooler that runs on a 12v socket from the battery. She has an electrically powered water pump for the sink, but no water heater. Her canopy was reported to have been replaced ~3 years ago.

This boat has been looked after and loved by its previous owners, and comes with 3 years BSS. We will be picking her new owner to carry on this attention to detail.

Jofra doesn’t have its original gel coat has had many years of paint applied. She has been lifted out recently(seen on the pictures) and the hull was painted but all the superstructure needs work.

Swifigig - 8ft Collapsible dinghy
On land in Cardiff
Free to a new home

The Swifigig is a bit of a unique item for us. It is designed in two compartments, which come apart and allow her to be disassembled. Her previous owner used her as a yacht tender, as well as a sailing dinghy. She is twin skinned, but has a small puncture to her hull as seen in the photograph.

She comes with oars and rowlocks for rowing. For sailing, she has a daggerboard, rudder, mast and sails; all described to be in good condition. The oars are described to require a varnish but are otherwise ready for use. She does not come with an outboard, but is designed to be compatible with a 2-4hp engine.

Viking 20 Cabin Cruiser
Ashore in Camelford, Cornwall

Re-homing attempt before disposal - Free to a New Home

This is a last chance for re-homing this boat before resorting to scrapping. We believe her to be a Viking 20 of GRP construction. As seen from the photographs, a lot of her wooden interior panels show signs of rot. She has a cockpit console, with a cockpit canopy which (once again) can be seen in the photographs.

She comes on a trailer, which currently has flat tyres/ in need of a service before moving. As far as we are aware there is no engine to go with her.

Ex London Port Authority Vessel
Afloat in Rochester

Free to a New Home

There is not a massive amount we can say about this boat. It is around 29ft long and 9.5ft beam. It is believed to be made by Freedom marine, and to be an ex pilot boat for the Port of London Authority.

It has been reported that in her current condition, she is not able to steer with the helm due to cable breaking. She can currently be controlled by a tiller at the rear. Although she is watertight, she does accumulate a small amount of water, which is regularly pumped out by the current owner of the boat. Her engine we believe is an old ford diesel engine. She has a coal heater, heads, oven and microwave. We believe she also has a fishfinder/radar, but unsure if it is working condition.

Her current mooring is in a working boatyard. Her fee's are described as '£8-900.00pa' and we believe these can be taken over if desired.
