One week to go until we host our interactive workshop for Humber Business Week.

Learning at work isn’t just about what you learn - it’s about how you use it.

Anna, our Payroll Officer, is currently working towards a Payroll Specialist Certificate alongside her role.

By developing her technical knowledge, Anna is building confidence in handling more complex payroll queries and strengthening her understanding of her role within the wider team.

It’s a great example of how learning can have an immediate impact - something that sits at the heart of this year’s Learning at Work Week theme, Many Ways to Learn.

With Humber Business Week fast approaching, we’re looking forward to welcoming delegates for conversations that reflect the realities of today’s workplace.

Today’s teams are more multi‑generational than ever, bringing both opportunity and challenge around communication styles, expectations and ways of working. For many leaders, navigating this shift comes without a clear roadmap.

As part of the week, we’re hosting a practical, interactive leadership workshop in partnership with T2 – The People Performance People, led by Rich McCarthy. The session moves beyond generational labels to focus on the everyday leadership behaviours that build trust, reduce friction and strengthen collaboration across different career stages, with practical tools that can be applied straight away.

There’s no single route to learning - and that’s what Learning at Work Week is all about.

Amy, our People & Talent Manager, is currently working towards her CIPD Level 5 qualification alongside her role.

Through this, Amy is continuing to build her HR knowledge while applying what she’s learning in real, day-to-day situations. It’s helping to strengthen both confidence and capability, while supporting her ongoing professional development.

It’s a great reflection of this year’s theme, Many Ways to Learn, showing how development can happen alongside the role in ways that are both practical and impactful.

This Learning at Work Week, we’re celebrating the many ways our colleagues are learning.

For Owen, our Brand Marketing Executive, that means balancing a full-time role alongside a degree apprenticeship in Digital Marketing.

It’s a great example of how learning can happen alongside the day job - developing new skills in real time while building experience on the job. While it takes commitment, it’s helping Owen grow in confidence, stay focused, and continue progressing his career.

This year’s theme, Many Ways to Learn, highlights exactly this - learning isn’t one-size-fits-all.
