2nd weekend complete... here's a snapshot. 👇

CR2 Security BID Rangers continued supporting businesses, visitors and partner agencies across Bristol city centre over the weekend. All while delivering a visible presence and responding to a range of incidents and welfare concerns.

The numbers:

- 34 total engagements and interventions
- 20 business engagement visits
- 14 incident reports completed
- 8 anti-social behaviour incidents addressed
- 2 first aid and welfare interventions
- 1 arrest supported alongside Avon & Somerset Police

Issues encountered:

- Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
- Underage drinking
- Street drinking
- Rough sleeping concerns
- Drug-related activity
- Welfare and safeguarding concerns
- Violent and disorderly behaviour
- Harassment and public nuisance incidents
- General first aid and medical assistance

Working closely with businesses, Bristol BID, the and partner agencies and we're proud to be supporting Avon and Somerset Police, amongst other stakeholders involved.

Our Rangers continue to gather valuable intelligence and provide a proactive, visible presence across the city. Roll on w/e #3.

We’ve seen an increase in burglary reports in the rural areas of Salisbury and Amesbury. We’re reminding everyone to take steps to protect your property:

Recent trends include:
• Unlocked doors and windows being used to gain entry
• Opportunistic theft from vehicles overnight
• Targeting of sheds, garages and outbuildings.

How you can protect your home:
• Always lock doors and windows, even when you’re at home
• Use exterior lighting or motion sensor lights
• Install a visible alarm system or CCTV
• Keep valuables out of sight and away from windows
• Consider using timer switches on lights when you’re away.

Vehicle security tips:
• Lock vehicles and double-check before leaving them
• Remove valuables, bags and other valuables from sight
• Park in well-lit areas where possible
• Don’t leave keys near doors or windows inside your home.

Outbuildings and outdoor areas:
• Secure sheds and garages with strong locks
• Mark tools and equipment with your postcode
• Keep high-value items recorded and photographed

Stay alert:
If you see suspicious activity or unknown individuals acting unusually in your area, please report it.

🚨 On Friday night, we officially launched our new Night Ranger Service contract with Bristol BID.

Our teams will be deployed every Friday and Saturday between 20:00 and 04:00, providing a highly visible presence across Bristol’s night-time economy.

Working closely with businesses, venues, local partners and emergency services, our Night Rangers will contribute to the safety and wellbeing of the city by:

✅ Tackling anti-social behaviour through early intervention
✅ Supporting vulnerable people and delivering safeguarding measures
✅ Gathering and sharing intelligence with key partners
✅ Providing reassurance and assistance to businesses, staff and visitors
✅ Helping to prevent incidents from escalating and reducing demand on emergency services

We are proud to support Bristol BID in enhancing the safety, security and overall experience of Bristol’s thriving night-time economy and look forward to making a positive impact across the city.

Knife Crime Awareness Week.

Knife crime continues to impact individuals, families, businesses and communities across the UK. Retail workers, night-time economy staff, BID teams, security teams and frontline employees are often among those exposed to the reality of violence and aggression.

According to the Office for National Statistics, there were over 49,000 offences involving knives or sharp instruments recorded across England and Wales in the year ending December 2025.

In the South West alone, Avon and Somerset Police recorded more than 1,600 serious knife-related offences, accounting for almost half of all recorded offences across the region.

Behind every statistic is a victim, a family and a community affected.
