📢 More new qualifications announced by Building Our Skills! 📰

Building Our Skills is delighted to announce the launch of three NEW qualifications for those in the Fenestration, Glass and Glazing industry who want the opportunity to develop their skills and gain formal recognition for their vocational achievements.

Through our partnership with NOCN Group we are supporting the launch of NVQs for Glazing, Fabrication and Glass Related Occupations to add to those announced recently for Installation, Surveying and Curtain walling. It completes a comprehensive range of industry relevant qualifications.

🎓 Helping the next generation understand what comes next! 💪

A big thank you to the teams at FENSA and Certass TA for taking the time to visit our training centre and speak with our learners and those looking to get started in the window and door industry.

It was a great opportunity for aspiring installers to learn more about ‘Competent Person Schemes’, what it means for installers and how they can work towards becoming registered.

In simple terms, a Competent Person Scheme allows suitably qualified and competent installers to self-certify that their work complies with Building Regulations, rather than having to use Local Authority Building Control for every installation. It’s an important step for installers looking to demonstrate their competence and operate professionally within the industry.

For anyone starting out, understanding the industry isn't just about learning how to install a window or door properly, it’s also about understanding the standards, regulations and responsibilities that come with being a professional installer.
