Vistage UK

Vistage UK Vistage is improving the effectiveness and enhancing the lives of business leaders by bringing successful people together in private advisory groups.

In a Vistage group, about a dozen executives meet once a month to discuss their challenges, evaluate opportunities and solve an assortment of strategic, operational and sometimes personal issues. Put twelve or so high performing business executives in a room and the potential is enormous. The role of a Vistage Chair is to ensure that every bit of experience and wisdom is applied in each Vistage me

eting. Our Chairs are accomplished leaders (many are former MDs or CEOs). They are part facilitator, part coach and are committed to the success of their group members. To maintain the momentum that group meetings provide, Vistage members are also supported by one-to-one coaching, access to leading expert speakers, bespoke best practice materials and an online community of 19,000 members worldwide.

Running a business can be lonely.

The bigger the decisions, the fewer people you can talk to about them.
On 8 September, we're opening the doors to a real Vistage peer advisory group, the same confidential, structured environment our members trust every month to think clearer and decide faster.

No pitch. No presentation. Just CEOs like you, in the room with people who understand exactly what the job costs.

You'll see:
- CEOs from non-competing businesses tackling live challenges, in confidence
- A Vistage Chair facilitating focused, high quality discussion
- Perspectives that expose your blind spots (and sharpen your thinking)
Vistage member companies grow 2.2x faster than average small and midsize U.S. businesses.¹

Not because they know more. Because they decide better, with the right people around them.

Only three spaces left for Experience Vistage on 8 September.

Register by Friday to take one. https://tinyurl.com/3u45vtt6

One day, two experiences: step inside a Vistage peer advisory group and Scotland's leadership community

For the first time, Vistage is opening its doors to a small number of non-member CEOs and managing directors.

Spend the morning inside a live Vistage peer advisory group and see how Scotland's business leaders challenge and sharpen each other's thinking on the decisions that carry the most weight. Then stay as our guest for the Vistage Leadership Forum, an afternoon on the issues shaping the future of business.

On the day you'll:
- Sit in on a live peer advisory group
- Meet CEOs and MDs from across Scotland
- Hear fresh perspectives on leadership, AI, and a shifting landscape
- Take part in the discussion, not just watch it
- Leave with new ideas, new connections, and a sharper view of your own business

Eleanor Winton headlines the afternoon with her keynote, The Foresightful Leader: Vision and Action in an Unpredictable World.
Seats in the morning group are limited by design, a peer advisory board only works when the room stays small.

A new chapter from one of British business's most respected voices

We're proud to share that Vistage Chair David Sheepshanks CBE DL has published his book, Man on a Mission: The Agony and Ecstasy of a Life in Football.

Drawing on a football career spanning almost forty years, from the chairmanship of Ipswich Town to leading the Football League and driving the creation of the FA's National Football Centre at St George's Park, David writes candidly about what leadership actually costs. Holding your nerve through three successive play-off defeats. Carrying an institution through financial pressure that was never going to ease. Building something designed to outlast you.

It's a must-read for any leader who knows that the best decisions are rarely made in isolation. That conviction is the same one that sits behind Never Lead Alone™.

David's next role with us

David is also taking on a new role as the first Chair Emeritus of Vistage UK & Ireland. It carries no executive authority and no commercial brief, which is rather the point of it.

In practice, the role does three things. David will provide strategic advice and counsel to our leadership team as we build the next phase of Vistage in this country. He will be a source of counsel to our 55 Chairs, drawing on ten years of building and chairing groups here and four decades of running organisations before that. And he will be our standing point of contact with the UK Government, representing what our members are telling us as the country moves into the next phase of SME growth.

That last part matters more than it might sound. Small and medium-sized businesses are 99.9% of the businesses in this country and employ three in five private sector workers, yet they are the part of the economy least often in the room when decisions are taken about it. David's job is to help make sure the people who sign the payslips are heard by the people who write the rules.

More from David soon, including a Vistage Chair webinar on 17 September drawing on his experience setting up and chairing three groups of 15+ members over the last ten years. Watch this space.

Not consultants with a framework. Leaders who made the call and lived with it.
