It's been a frightfully competitive week here at the Business & Technology Centre in Stevenage, where our businesses have been getting into the Halloween spirit!

Forget business as usual, our corridors have been transformed into something straight out of a horror film. From creepy clowns and wicked witches to some truly terrifying creations, our tenants have pulled out all the stops.

And we have to say, we're dead impressed! 💀

It was brilliant to see so many new faces at the btc yesterday for our Work Smarter with AI workshop! 🤖

Led by the fantastic Bade Adesemowo, we explored practical AI tools everyday professionals can use to save time, work more efficiently, and lighten their workload.

And when I say we learned, I really do mean WE! There's always something new to discover in AI. 💡

🚨 Newly self-employed? Today’s a date you need to know.

If you’re new to Self Assessment, have become self-employed, or need to start filing again after a gap, today – 5 October – is the deadline to tell HMRC you need to file for the 2025/26 tax year.

Don’t panic – this isn’t the deadline to actually submit your tax return. That comes later. 😅

Today is about making sure HMRC knows you need to complete one.

So, if you’ve started working for yourself and Self Assessment has been sitting somewhere near the bottom of that never-ending business to-do list… this is your reminder to bump it up. 👆

You can register through the GOV.UK Self Assessment portal.
