From student to Team Leader: Employee spotlight! 👊🏼

Nick Dickinson’s journey is a great example of how opportunity, training and hard work can lead to real career progression.

Starting as a student at Middlesbrough College, Nick came to CPS HQ to complete the specialist elements of his training - where he showed the drive we look for and successfully earned his place on our team.

Since then, Nick has gone from strength to strength, and is currently a key part of the Port of Wilton team, gaining invaluable experience on one of the region’s major industrial sites.

As well as his main role, he takes full responsibility as a Team Leader at Darlington Football Club on match days, managing a unit of stewards and security staff.

At CPS we don’t just hire for a role; we invest in people, build their experience, and provide the platform for them to lead.

Over recent weeks, some people may have noticed our transition from Close Protection Security Ltd to Close Protection Security NE Ltd.

This change forms part of the next phase of the business as we continue to move forward under the leadership of our Managing Director, Glenn Bartlett.

For clarity, this was a business decision that was communicated directly to our clients well in advance of the formal transition process beginning. Throughout this transition, our focus has remained firmly on supporting our clients, protecting jobs and continuing to deliver the high standards of service we’ve built our reputation on over many years.

We’re incredibly proud to remain a Teesside business supporting employment for more than 250 people across the region, and we’d like to thank our clients, staff and partners for their continued support during this next chapter.

The Road to BKFC 👊🏼

Our MD, Glenn, recently partnered with Lou Fuse on Road to BKFC, to find the next generation of bare-knuckle fighters and give them a platform on the world stage.

The recent show at Middlesbrough Sports Village was a massive statement of what this partnership can deliver. With over 1,000 people in attendance, supported by a 22-man CPS team on the ground.

The success of the night already speaks for itself, with three fighters, including Middlesbrough’s own Jamal Weaver, securing BKFC contracts.

The mission now is to take this tour to every major city in the UK 💪🏼

Glenn is focused on identifying the best talent the country has to offer, with CPS providing the full security support to make it happen.

We aren’t just staffing events, we are building the environment that allows these shows to reach the next level.
