Career Development Institute

Career Development Institute We opened our doors on 1st April 2013. Our new Institute will be building on the very best of the joint offers from each of the four predecessor bodies.

The CDI is the new single UK-wide professional organisation for all working in all fields of career education; career information, advice and guidance; career coaching and career consultancy. The CDI is the new single UK-wide professional organisation for everyone working in the fields of career education; career information, advice and guidance; career coaching and career management. It had been

the goal for many years of the founding bodies - ACEG; ACPi-UK; ICG and NAEGA - to join together and create a single voice for the Career Development sector. The key aims being to ensure a sound networking approach between practitioners, inspire confidence in those who seek help in moving into and through their working life and provide support to members in the delivery of high quality career development services. Working together the new body will present a strong and united front, influencing government policy and lobbying on behalf of members. Pivotal to the success of our new organisation will be the engagement of members (see Member Benefits)

To keep you informed of developments the CDI Board publish regular Briefing Notes (see News and Reports). Please share these with colleagues working in the sector. Members can also access resources and reports through the Member's Area of the website. We are pleased that the Government has supported the development of a new Register of Career Development Professionals and we encourage all practising career development professionals to join the CDI and the Register. It is our ambition that the Register will become the single most important source of information for employers and individuals seeking your services.
