From international relief efforts to the protection of vulnerable communities, here are five facts highlighting His Royal Highness’s dedication to humanitarian causes.

1. Promoting Education Against Human Trafficking (2026)
Under Prince David’s leadership, the Royal House of Georgia is developing Aisha’s Notebook, an educational initiative designed to help young people recognize and avoid human trafficking. The project also envisions cooperation with law enforcement agencies to strengthen prevention and reporting mechanisms.

2. Engaging with the United Nations on Genocide Prevention (2025)
On March 14, 2025, Prince David led a delegation of the Royal House of Georgia to United Nations Headquarters in New York, engaging with representatives of the UN Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect. Discussions explored opportunities for cooperation in preventing atrocities and protecting vulnerable communities.

3. Rescuing Afghan Civilians (2021–2025)
Following the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in 2021, H.R.H. Prince David supported Operation Snow Leopard, an international mission dedicated to rescuing 678 civilians at risk. Through diplomatic contacts and humanitarian coordination, he helped facilitate safe accommodation, emergency travel documentation, and evacuation efforts. His contribution was formally recognized in March 2025.

4. Mobilizing International Humanitarian Assistance (2021)
In 2021, Prince David joined Ambassador Shiv Shankar Nair and humanitarian partners in a fundraising campaign that reportedly raised approximately $7 million to support efforts to rescue around 2,000 vulnerable Afghans facing persecution under Taliban rule.

5. Supporting Victims of the Tbilisi Floods (2015–2016)
Following the devastating floods of June 2015, Prince David personally appealed for donations and mobilized the Royal House of Georgia, its dynastic orders, and supporters to assist affected families and reconstruction efforts. His financial support and collaboration were publicly acknowledged by the Mayor of Tbilisi.

A remarkable photograph of His Imperial and Royal Highness Archduke Eugen of Habsburg-Teschen (1863–1954), captured in Switzerland in August 1923.

What makes this photograph particularly special is the man behind the camera: His Imperial and Royal Highness Archduke Gottfried of Habsburg-Tuscany (1902–1984), later Grand Duke of Tuscany, who personally photographed his cousin.

A rare and intimate glimpse into Habsburg family history, preserved through the eyes of one of its own.
