We are proud to have participated in the Sri Lanka International Insurance Summit 2026, organized by the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka and held from 10th to 12th August 2026 at Cinnamon Life, Colombo.

Deloitte was represented at the summit on 12 August by Dr. Gargi Ghorpade, Partner, ESG - Advisory & Reporting, Deloitte India, she delivered the keynote address for the session “Embedding ESG into Insurance Strategy: Moving from Compliance to Sustainable Impact.” Thereafter, she also joined the panel discussion, sharing perspectives on integrating ESG into insurance strategy, strengthening sustainability across underwriting and governance, and building long-term resilience across the sector. Her contributions highlighted the growing role of ESG in shaping a more resilient and sustainable future for the insurance industry.

Intern Exposure Visit to the Colombo Stock Exchange

In the month of July, interns from Deloitte Sri Lanka had the opportunity to participate in an insightful Exposure Visit to the Colombo Stock Exchange, gaining firsthand exposure to Sri Lanka's capital market and the operations of the country's premier stock exchange.

The session provided valuable insights into the functioning of the CSE, market operations, trading mechanisms, and the data and analysis behind market performance. It was an enriching learning experience that helped our interns bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world financial markets.

Deloitte Sri Lanka is inviting applications from experienced professionals to join our Strategy & Transactions team as a Director / Associate Director. Candidates should have 12+ years of relevant experience in corporate finance, business and equity valuations, financial modelling, M&A, and strategic advisory. A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, together with a relevant professional qualification such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA, is required.

In this role, you will lead Corporate Finance engagements, including business valuations, financial feasibility studies, commercial due diligence, and market assessments. You will also lead strategy and corporate planning engagements, support buy-side and sell-side M&A advisory, drive deal origination and business development, and advise senior executives, boards, investors, and other stakeholders. Our Senior Managers had the opportunity to participate in the Global Senior Manager Milestone Programme, marking an important milestone in their leadership journey at Deloitte. The programme was designed to strengthen strategic and people-leadership capabilities through an engaging and practical learning experience.

The programme was facilitated by Dr. Badari Narayana, Executive Director, Deloitte South Asia; Aruna Pawaskar, Director, Deloitte South Asia; and Rutu Kuwadia, Associate Director, Deloitte South Asia, who guided participants through discussions and learning activities focused on the key capabilities required for senior leadership.
