Exploring the Power of Generative AI.

Our interns recently participated in an insightful Generative AI (Gen AI) session facilitated by Saheli Hapudeniya, Senior Analyst, Technology & Transformation, Deloitte Sri Lanka, where they learned how to effectively prompt AI tools to unlock productivity, innovation, and smarter ways of working.

From understanding the fundamentals of Gen AI to mastering practical prompting techniques and AI best practices, the session provided hands-on exposure to help interns make the most of emerging technologies in the workplace.

Deloitte Sri Lanka is pleased to share that Antony Prashant, Partner – Life Science and Healthcare Consulting Leader, Deloitte South Asia, and Srikanth Mahadevan, Director – Life Sciences and Healthcare Strategy, Deloitte South Asia, participated as speakers at the forum “Strengthening Pharmaceutical Industry Competitiveness: Driving Productivity, Cost Efficiency and Export Growth." Organised by the Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Manufacturers' Association in collaboration with Deloitte, the event took place on 27th October 2026 at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

As part of the forum, they shared insights on how Sri Lanka can strengthen its position in the regional pharmaceutical industry, enhance manufacturing competitiveness, improve productivity and cost efficiency, and unlock new growth opportunities across South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Organised by the CFA Society Sri Lanka, the event took place on 27th October 2026 at Courtyard by Marriott, Colombo.

As part of the discussion, Mayura shared insights on the evolving role of AI in business, exploring global and local adoption, productivity opportunities, practical investment pathways for mid-sized organisations, and considerations for effective capital allocation.

Deloitte Sri Lanka is pleased to share that Muzawwir Manzeer, Partner – Audit & Assurance, Deloitte Sri Lanka and Maldives, participated in the Maldives Accountants Forum (MAF) 2026 as a speaker and panellist. Organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives, the event took place on 24th–25th October 2026 at Manhattan Grand Hotel, Hulhumalé.

Under the theme “Internal Audit for Tomorrow: Evolving with Risk, Technology & Expectations,” Muzawwir shared insights on how internal audit functions can adapt to emerging technology risks, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics, adopt forward-looking risk management, and respond to evolving stakeholder expectations. The discussion also explored how alignment with the Global Internal Audit Standards can strengthen governance, support better decision-making and deliver greater organisational value.

Our interns participated in a Financial Literacy Session facilitated by Samudi Lankathilaka, Senior Manager - Finance Transformation, Deloitte Sri Lanka, designed to build awareness of effective financial planning and management.

Through practical insights into budgeting, saving, setting financial goals, and developing healthy financial habits, participants gained the knowledge to make informed financial decisions and build a strong foundation for their financial future.

The session reinforced the importance of financial awareness and responsible financial management in building confidence and achieving long-term financial well-being.
