What a day yesterday! Another great turnout for this year's Basin Wines New Release Tasting held in Clyde. Always a highlight on our calendar and was great fun to share our lineup of wines with the sold-out crowd. Look forward to doing it again next year!

We are thrilled to have been awarded Double Gold for our 2025 Shaky Bridge Artisan Reserve Pinot Gris at this year's NZ International Wine Show. The recognition is much appreciated and shows off Central Otago and Alexandra's capacity not only for world-class Pinot Noir but also top quality Pinot Gris. This was our 'Grand Cru' attempt with the varietal and although limited we are excited to release the wine with the hope you get to try it soon!

Being proudly Alexandra based, we are certainly local! It was a fun night out in our hometown yesterday with a great group for the Alexandra District Club Wine Club. It was a pleasure to share our current vintage Pinot Noirs, Rosé and Pinot Gris, and special for us to include our 2010 Pioneer Homeblock white from our library that features some of the original vines planted by the Grants in Alex in 1973. Looking forward to next time!

What an evening! As a producer with a history that reaches back to 1973, it was a pleasure to be included in one of the great wine events here in New Zealand. This is the 3rd year of the Alexandra Basin Wines Vintage Dinner held last night with a full house at in Clyde. It was a fantastic lineup of wines yet again that continue to show the capacity for the Alexandra Basin here in Central Otago to produce world-class wines. We were honoured to include two wines from our library, a 2011 Shaky Bridge Pioneer Gewurztraminer and the last bottles of our 2003 William Hill Reserve Pinot Noir. Both wines have aged gracefully and were thrilling wine experiences among many last night. It was also a rare event with Dave Grant winemaker for the wines sharing his insights and reflections on the wines with 29 years of winegrowing experience in the region.

Who's looking forward to the weekend! Still finishing jobs at the winery but we're thrilled for a couple sold out events coming up. Tomorrow, Saturday May 24 we'll be in Dunedin at for what will be a super fun . The weather is looking great for what surely will be another of a day. We'll have some tasty wines and if you have your tickets looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

All our Pinot Noir vats have now been pressed! There will certainly be some delicious wine to come, but we'll have to be patient. Still jobs to do in the winery, but vintage 2025 is nearly complete.

We've been busy! The winery is full and the good smells of vintage are in the air. There is plenty of work to do and one of the important jobs is managing the extraction for our prized Pinot Noirs. Although, certainly on trend here at Shaky Bridge we have always extracted gently in the winery with a gentle pump over being our preferred technique. Still much to do but so far quality is looking excellent!
