☕️ Coffee, conversation & community! 🤝

Sat Sri Akal 🙏🏼 I had a great coffee and kōrero with Daljit Singh of the Supreme Sikh Society today. So good to catch up, hear his thoughts and talk about the issues that matter to our community, our whānau and Papakura. ❤️

And now, I’m excited to announce my next coffee catch-up! ☕️ tomorrow …1pm-2pm at Hunua Eatery, Great South Rd Papakura.

Come along and have a chat with me as we count down to Advance Voting on 26 October and Election Day on 7 November. This is a great opportunity to meet your Papakura Labour candidate one-on-one, share your thoughts and ask questions about the things that matter to you and your whānau.

🗳️ Need to enrol? I’ll have enrolment forms with me, so you can enrol on the spot!

And of course… the coffee and food are pretty great too! ☕️😊

Come along, grab a coffee, have a kōrero and make your voice heard.

⚠️Hey Papakura, here's a heads up from NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi - Auckland about the upcoming two-week full closure of Drury southbound on-ramp.

The southbound on-ramp at Drury Interchange will be fully closed 24/7 for two weeks as part of the State Highway 1 (SH1) Papakura to Drury project, from 9pm Sunday 13 September until Monday 28 September.

For southbound motorists who would normally enter SH1 southbound at Drury, there are two alternatives suggested during this on-ramp closure. Motorists can either plan ahead and travel northwards to Papakura Interchange to enter SH1 southbound there, or detour southwards to Ramarama Interchange via State Highway 22 (SH22), Great South Road and Ararimu Road to enter SH1 southbound using the Ramarama southbound on-ramp.

This full closure of the Drury southbound on-ramp is required to install a new stormwater main under the on-ramp near Great South Road.

❤️🌹 Sunday door knocking in Papakura

After church on Sunday, Sue Ollerton and I headed out for some door knocking around Papakura.

We had such a great reception at the doors. One of those was Andre and his mum Shiree who were happy to open his door and find the Labour candidate for Papakura standing there! 😂❤️

These are the moments I enjoy about campaigning, meeting people at their homes, listening, having a kōrero and making those personal connections.

And an extra Malo ʻaupito to Andre for letting us put our Labour sign on your fence. Every bit of support helps our campaign. Later that evening Fetuli, Sue and Viv had the sign up. I really appreciate our team and their passion to get things done!

🌹 Labour — Better Starts Now.

❤️ Father’s Day in

Today, Sue Ollerton and I joined the kāinga at Crossroads Papakura Methodist Church for Father’s Day at the Combined Service led by Revs Kim Chiwona, Faiva Alaelua, Pua Naidu, Uesifili Unasa Sunday 6th September 2026

Today’s message came from Mark, Jesus and his disciples in the boat when the storm came.

The storm was around them, however Jesus was in the boat with them.

A simple message and an important reminder for me. We will all experience storms in our lives. Our faith does not mean the storms will not come, it reminds us that we are not travelling through them alone.

Perhaps especially meaningful for me today, after the last week with our kāinga.

Happy Father’s Day to all our fathers, grandfathers and the men who provide love, guidance and Tauhi ❤️

Malo ʻaupito Crossroads Papakura Methodist Church for the welcome and fellowship today.

Even in the storm, keep faith in the folau.⛵🙏🏽

❤️🌹 Better Starts Now

Yesterday, 5 September 2026, was the day election hoardings could start going up across Auckland.

I was unwell and couldn’t be out there with the team, However Team Labour Anahila & Kingi Kiriona mō Hauraki-Waikato was up at midnight and ready to go!💪❤️

Malo ʻaupito Fetuli, Siaosi, Pania, Sue, Viv, Stein, Dominique, Oscar and the rest of our team for such a great effort. While I was resting, you were out across Papakura getting our hoardings up.

And of course, a team working through the night needs to be nourished on the run! Sue’s car became our kitchen on the go, making sure everyone was fed while the work continued. 😂🥪☕

That is what I love about our team. Everyone has a Fatongia, everyone contributes and we look after each other along the way.

The hoardings are going up, the team is moving and the campaign continues.

❤️🌹 Labour; Better Starts Now.
