SMC Design Studio is a dynamic consultancy with a team of structural engineers and architectural designers with a wealth of experience and local knowledge. As a one-stop shop, we provide comprehensive solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The bulk of our new design portfolio consists of commercial tilt panel buildings and residential multi-unit developments. We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our multilingual team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions. If you are passionate about innovative design, problem-solving, and working on diverse projects, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

- Structural design and analysis for new building projects.
- Structural assessments of existing buildings (DSA, forensic etc.).
- Prepare engineering reports, and documentation.
- Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- New Zealand-based, with a valid work or resident visa.
- Several years of New Zealand experience in structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, Revit).
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand building codes and engineering standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.
- High level of English, both spoken and written.
-Working towards CPEng or already chartered.
- Background in architectural design will be appreciated.
