Having a support person isn’t about someone speaking for you, it’s about having someone beside you.

Whether it’s a disciplinary meeting, performance discussion, return-to-work conversation, or another workplace situation, having the right support person can make all the difference.

A good support person can:
✅ Help you feel more confident and supported
✅ Listen carefully and help ensure key points aren’t missed
✅ Take notes so you can focus on the conversation
✅ Help you process information and ask for clarification when needed

Having someone in your corner can make difficult conversations feel far less overwhelming.

If you’re in a situation where are encouraged to bring or would like a support person I would love to connect to see if I would be the right person for you. Send me a message or email, I’d love to hear from you!

A lesson from painting that we can apply to life! 🎨

When painting a line, it’s often more effective to focus on where the brush is going rather than watching the brush itself.

If you’re constantly checking whether the line is straight or perfect, you can start second-guessing every movement. That hesitation often results in a less smooth, less confident stroke.

The same can happen in life! When we become overly focused on every small detail or constantly question our progress, we can lose momentum and confidence. Keeping our attention on the goal and making small steps to progress towards it often helps us move forward with greater clarity and purpose.

I’m a doodler. ✏️

If you’ve ever been in a meeting with me, there’s a good chance I’ve been scribbling away in the margins of my notebook. Not because I’m distracted, but because it actually helps me focus, process information, and stay engaged.

We all work differently. Some people need to take notes, some need to stand while they work, some need background music, and others need complete silence.

The key is understanding what helps you do your best work and communicating that to those around you. We don’t need to force ourselves into someone else’s way of working if we’ve found habits that genuinely help us thrive.

What’s one work habit that helps you stay focused, productive, or engaged? Share it in the comments 👇

Great leadership isn’t about controlling every decision, nor is it about stepping back completely.

The best leaders know when to provide direction, support and clarity, and when to empower their people with the trust and autonomy to take ownership.

When guidance and autonomy work together, teams become more engaged, confident and capable. It’s in that balance that people do their best work.

How do you re-energise, rest, and recharge over the weekend?

Some of my favourite ways to unwind are spending time with my grandchildren with a good coffee in hand. I also love settling in by the fire with a bit of knitting 🧶😍

I’d love to hear from you, what’s something you’re doing this weekend that will bring you joy? Let me know in the comments below. ☕🏃‍♀️🌿

We all have preferences.

Some people love structure, others thrive in spontaneity. Some enjoy cake, others enjoy pizza (some enjoy both 😉). Some people like being front and centre, while others do their best work behind the scenes. Some people like jumping on a trampoline, others like sitting in a sandpit.

Too often, we spend energy trying to fit a mould we think we’re supposed to fit. But what if, instead, we leaned into the things that make us who we are?

In the workplace, understanding your preferences can help you work more effectively and build a role that plays to your strengths. In your personal life, it can help you make choices that bring more joy and less frustration.

Not every preference can be accommodated all the time, but there is real value in recognising what works for you rather than constantly trying to conform to someone else’s ideal.

What’s one preference you’ve embraced recently instead of fighting against?

(Ps. Watch until the end for a surprise 😂)

If we aren’t intentional, culture can be shaped without us even realising it.

These three culture setters are helpful prompts to reflect on, not just in our workplaces, but in our families and even in our own personal lives.

✨What you allow becomes the norm.
Maybe you’ve let things slip that you wouldn’t normally. Take a moment to reconnect with your core values. Are there things you’re allowing that don’t actually align with who you want to be or the culture you’re trying to create?

✨ What you ignore becomes accepted.
Sometimes we need to step back from the immediate demands of life and create space to reflect. It’s often in those quieter moments that we notice the things we’ve been overlooking, the behaviours, patterns, or issues that are having more impact than we realised.

✨ What you repeat becomes the culture.
Maybe you feel stuck repeating the same behaviours, habits, or ways of thinking, even when you want something different. Change starts with awareness. Find someone you trust, talk it through, process what’s happening, and create a plan together for building the culture you want in your life, family, or business.

Oh hi 👋 It’s me!

I would love to be that person for you.

I’m passionate about sitting down with people, listening to their story, helping them see the bigger picture, and supporting them as they take meaningful steps toward becoming the leader, team member, parent, friend, or person they want to be.

Whatever season you’re in, I’d love to come alongside you on the journey.

If that sounds like something you need right now, send me a message and let’s find a time to connect 😊

Formal meetings can feel overwhelming, especially when emotions, pressure or power dynamics are involved. Having a support person with you can make a huge difference, someone to help you feel confident, take notes, ask clarifying questions, and make sure you don’t walk away wishing you’d said something differently.

You don’t have to navigate difficult workplace conversations alone.

Supporting people through professional meetings is a service I offer, and I’d love to help if you’re facing a meeting that feels daunting or high stakes. Feel free to get in touch for a confidential chat.

We all know there are some unspoken meeting no-no’s… 👀

Here are a few that I thought of:
• Ordering Uber Eats mid-meeting
• Asking a long, drawn-out “quick question” (that we all know could be an email) right as the meeting ends
• Side conversations that I’m not apart of…. I get fomo

Now I want to hear yours 👇
