ABOUT US

With a support base of more than 550 members, the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce has a wealth of expertise at its finger tips and is the best vehicle for connecting business people across the region. We are independent of local and central government as we are funded by businesses to be accountable to our membership. Each year we host more than 80 events (that's a lot!), which members get free or subsidised entry to. From business training seminars, networking functions, luncheons, the Aspire Conference and annual Business Awards - there is something for everyone. Celebrating local business success is a large part of what we do. In addition to our annual Business Awards, we promote member businesses through our social media channels, website, weekly email newsletter and STRONG eMagazine. Members get discounted advertising rates in chamber publications. They are also entitled to discounts with a range of local national retailers and free business mentoring sessions.

Innovation can take many forms, from a clever new product to a smarter process or a different way of doing business.

The Innovative Business Award recognises businesses that have combined grit, fresh thinking and innovation to create real impact. It could be an inventive approach to your people, products or processes, or a business idea that has added value and contributed to the success of our regional economy.

If innovation has played a key part in your business story, consider entering the 2degrees Innovative Business Award.

Entries close 12 October. Find out more and enter here: https://www.ntccbusinessawards.org.nz/apply-here

A great session last Thursday with Birte Becker-Steel from TeamTime, who shared useful strategies for strengthening self-management, through making better decisions and prioritising what matters most.

Alongside Birte’s insights, the interactive format created space for people to share experiences, learn from each other and leave with some useful takeaways.

There are more Knowledge @ Noon sessions coming up, covering a range of topics to support you and your business.

Best of all, they’re free for Chamber members.

A massive thank you to Mike Casey, CEO of Rewiring Aotearoa, for joining us for our Westpac Smarts session yesterday.

It was fantastic to hear Mike’s insights on electrification, drawing on both his own experience and his extensive knowledge of the opportunities it can create for businesses, farms and communities across Aotearoa.

There was plenty for everyone in the room to take away. We would love to hear your highlights in the comments below. 💬

Thank you to Mike for sharing your time and expertise, and to everyone who joined us for the session.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our AGM yesterday.

It was a great opportunity to reflect on the past year, recognise what the Chamber has achieved, and celebrate the fantastic business community we’re fortunate to work alongside.

This year’s AGM was also a special opportunity to acknowledge outgoing Board members Sharon McGuire and Pete Pattullo, who have contributed a combined 16 years of service to the Chamber Board. We’re incredibly grateful for the time, knowledge and experience they have shared over the years. We wish them both all the best for what comes next and know they’ll remain familiar faces in our business community.

We were also pleased to welcome Euan McIntosh to the Board and look forward to the experience and perspective he will bring to the Chamber.

Thank you again to our members for being part of the evening and for your continued support.
