Some moments call for something special.

We were incredibly honoured to host the legendary Ranfurly Shield at Northland Waste Whangārei today.

To welcome this piece of New Zealand rugby history to our branch, our team came together to perform a haka. A show of respect, pride, and admiration for the Shield and for the mighty Northland Taniwha who brought it home.

The Ranfurly Shield is home, and the region is buzzing.

Northlanders have turned out in force to welcome the Log o' Wood back. Kids on shoulders, flags in the air, crowds out in the rain, everyone wanting to be part of the celebrations. As a proud Northland company, we're right there with you. This is our team, our region and our time! Let's go boys.

To celebrate, we're giving away 10 supermarket vouchers worth $200 each, for every week the Shield stays in Northland.

🏆 The Cup stays up North 🏆

We had a great time with Rugby for Life at the 'Rumble in Russell' over the weekend. It was a weekend of sunshine, laughs and plenty of local pride, and we're proud to get behind an event that brings rugby and community together.

Congratulations to the Rugby for Life Invitational Team on another Cup win, and a big shout out to the Parliamentary Rugby Team for putting their bodies on the line for a great cause.

Here's a few snaps from the day.

We're proud to be backing the Taiohi Collective Youth Week Event in Kaikohe.

This is shaping up to be a big one for our rangatahi, with a full afternoon and evening of sport, games, music, kai, and plenty going on.

Rugby, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, pool comp, brain games, karaoke, a dance party, and spot prizes, it is all there. A great chance to get amongst it, connect with mates, and be part of something positive in the community.

We are proud to support events like this that create real opportunities for young people across the Far North.

📣 IMPORTANT UPDATE 📣

We’re making some changes at the Waipapa Recycling site to prepare for construction of our new recycling sort shed. This means the layout of the site will be different when we reopen on Saturday.

Please take extra care when visiting, follow staff directions, and allow a little more time than usual. Our team will be working hard to keep things moving safely.

🔧 Why the change?
Contractors need access to the current recycling area so construction can begin. These temporary adjustments will help us stay operational throughout the build. It may take a little time to get used to the new layout, but the improvements will be worth it.

📣 Additional update:
Due to last‑minute changes from Far North District Council, the Waipapa Transfer Station along with all other wider transfer stations will now be open on Good Friday to support ongoing flood‑damage clean‑up efforts in the area.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and kindness toward our staff during this transition.
