MESSAGE FROM KINA BANK.
Dear Valued Customer,
We wish to inform you that Kina Bank has placed a restriction on the operation of some business account(s) as of the 13th of May 2026.
This action has been taken in line with regulatory requirements from the PNG Investment Promotions Authority’s Companies Register and the Bank of Papua New Guinea.
Under PNG law, a deregistered company ceases to exist as a legal entity and is therefore not permitted to conduct business or operate bank accounts. As a result, the Bank is unable to continue providing banking services while this status remains.
What this means for these customers is:
⦁ Outgoing payments and transactions have been restricted
⦁ No new facilities, drawdowns, or amendments will be processed
⦁ This restriction is a regulatory and legal requirement and not a discretionary action by the Bank
What happens next:
To have this restriction lifted, the Bank requires formal confirmation that the company has been restored to the Companies Register by the Registrar of Companies.
Please provide:
⦁ Official confirmation of restoration; and
⦁ Updated company documentation following restoration
Until this process is completed, these business accounts cannot be reactivated.
