After designing sustainability and annual reports for organisations including PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency and YTL PowerSeraya, we have identified three design marks that separate a report that builds trust from one that quietly erodes it:
1. Data visualisation designed to guide, not overwhelm. Every chart, graph, and infographic should direct the reader's eye to the most important insight — not require them to decode it.
2. A visual narrative that connects metrics to human outcomes. Numbers alone do not move people. Design that connects data to impact does.
3. A design system consistent with your master brand identity. A report that looks disconnected from your core brand signals that design is an afterthought. Consistency signals control.
How does your most recent report score against these three?
