On September 9, AmCham Ukraine President Andy Hunder will take part in Future Tech Meetup: InvestDay, organized by Diia.City United.

The event will bring together founders and investors for a practical conversation about fundraising and what it takes to attract investment successfully.

Among the key topics:
— what investors look for in a company and what shapes their decisions;
— the most common mistakes that can prevent a deal from closing;
— how investment changes a company and the founder’s role once capital comes in.

We look forward to a valuable discussion and meaningful exchange between Ukraine’s tech community, founders, and investors.

Delivering messages firsthand to US partners on why supporting US businesses in Ukraine is vital.

AmCham Ukraine President Andy Hunder, Vice President Tanya Prokopchuk, Chair of AmCham Board of Directors Lenna Koszarny (Horizon Capital), and Board Member Nataliia Chervona (Shield AI) met with US Senator Richard Blumenthal during his visit to Kyiv, alongside Chargé d’Affaires a.i. at the US Embassy Kyiv Paul Houston.

The discussion focused on protecting American investors and businesses operating on the ground, as well as the urgent need for continued US support.

The Board briefed Senator Blumenthal on recent Russian attacks deliberately targeting American economic presence on Ukrainian soil, and that demands a bold response.

AmCham is grateful to the US Government and the US Embassy on the ground for all the support the United States provides to Ukraine and Ukrainians and calls for its continuation and a bold response to Russia's attacks.

Welcoming a high-level US Congressional delegation in brave Odesa.

On August 18, AmCham Ukraine member companies' representatives, Board of Directors’ member Nataliia Chervona (Shield AI), Communications Director Yuliana Chyzhova, together with Sandra S. Oudkirk, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. at the U.S. Embassy Kyiv Ukraine and her team, met U.S. Representatives Tom Cole (Republican, Oklahoma), Rep. Rosa DeLauro (Democrat, Connecticut), Steve Womack (Republican, Arkansas), Rep. Dave Joyce (Republican, Ohio), Congressman Mark Alford (Republican, Missouri), Rep. Glenn Ivey (Democrat, Maryland).

The companies shared first-hand insights into the realities of doing business during wartime – across security & defense, agriculture, and critical raw materials. They briefed Representatives on Russia’s brutal attacks on business assets, production facilities, ports and vessels, and the suspension of Black Sea corridor navigation due to security risks.

Russia continues to destroy and humiliate American businesses on the ground. Putin is not just attacking Ukraine – he is targeting US economic presence on Ukrainian soil. Putin must be stopped.

AmCham is grateful to the US partners for the diplomatic, economic, and military support. US support for Ukraine must continue for the sake of global peace and security.

For the first time in 10 years, Ukraine hosted H.E. Ms. Shaikha Al Nowais, UN Tourism Secretary-General, marking a significant moment for the country's tourism sector amid ongoing challenges.

Zarina Nazarko, AmCham Ukraine Chief Policy Advisor, joined the meeting with the Secretary-General and key stakeholders of Ukraine's tourism industry to discuss the sector's recovery and its long-term direction. Beyond the immediate focus on recovery, the discussion addressed a broader question: what standard should Ukrainian tourism be building toward. Safety and sustainability were treated as baseline expectations, with digital infrastructure identified as the area carrying the most near-term potential, not only for Ukraine to adopt, but for the country to help develop and pilot solutions later scaled to other markets.

Also, medical tourism was named as a particularly promising direction for Ukraine, given the country's strong medical expertise, growing rehabilitation and wellness capabilities, and potential for international partnerships in this field.

We are grateful to Natalya Tabaka, Head of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine, for the invitation and the opportunity to take part in this important dialogue.
