Join us this Saturday at our Arlington Heights office for a weekend of childbirth and newborn education. Having an evidence-based, independent childbirth class is one of the best ways to equip yourselves with the tools to have a safe and amazing birth experience. Registration includes two attendees and a full colored and bound book of class materials to reference and bring to your birth.
Class investment: $350 for the full weekend intensive. $250 for the Saturday session and $150 for the Sunday session, if attending only one session. Time for Q and A may extend class times slightly.

Doulas and Partners - The Perfect Team!
I am often asked if doulas replace or take away from the partner's role in labor support. The answer is absolutely not. We are a team, an extra set of hands (because dad can't hold his partner up and squeeze hips at the same time), and a vessel of knowledge on all things labor. We support both parents so they can soak in all the moments of joy on this big day, without the stress and fear.

This is a real picture of real labor support with one of our amazing families and our doula, Tia. Dad's got Mom in his arms, giving her the strength she needs, and Tia's got the counter pressure providing much-needed pain relief under the loving watch of their midwife.

A follow up to my last video. As a postpartum doula who has fed hundreds of babies at this point in my career, there are a few things I notice that point to a potential feeding issue. My goal is to get families the proper help before little signs become big issues. Often pediatricians tend to wait until there are red flags to validate concerns and address issues but I think care should be more proactive when there are soft signs of struggle. I am not qualified to diagnose or treat any feeding issues but I will always share concerns with families and get them connected with the right support when things venture into not normal territory.
