Rhinehart Fire Services would like to thank Blounts Creek Fire Department, Aurora Volunteer Fire Department, and Chocowinity Fire Department for allowing us to support their departments through a complete SCBA fleet replacement project.

Over the past several months, these three departments worked together to successfully secure funding through a regional Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) application, enabling them to replace every breathing apparatus in their fleets. Rhinehart Fire Services was proud to assist throughout the entire process—from grant support and equipment procurement to delivery and implementation. Our team spent two days on-site with the departments helping inventory, configure, and place the new equipment into service.

This regional project included:

• 85 Scott 4.5 X3 Pro SCBA Packs
• 170 4,500 PSI Carbon Fiber 30-Minute Cylinders
• 111 AV-3000 Facepieces
• 75 Voice Amplifiers
• 6 RIT Packs with 60-Minute Cylinders
• 3 Fast Attack RIT Packs with 30-Minute Cylinders
• One new 4-bank, 6,000 PSI Breathing Air Compressor and Fill Station (scheduled for delivery in the coming weeks)

Say hello to the newest member of the PG Fire Department in McDowell County, NC!

This new Stallion Air Centaur 2-4 high pressure breathing air compressor arrived on May 12th and features a 15HP 6000 PSI pump with a built-in CO monitor. The two-position fill station is paired with an Auto Fill Panel and a four-bank manual backup panel for added redundancy and reliability.

The unit is also equipped with a 100’ high pressure breathing air reel mounted in the right-side door, providing excellent integration into a sleek and functional frame design.

Thank you to Chief Scotty Abernathy and the members of the Stony Point Fire Department for your recent purchase of a new Stallion Air Centaur 2 high-pressure breathing air compressor system.

This 6000 PSI unit features a single-phase motor, onboard CO monitoring system, Stallion Air’s proprietary Auto Fill system, and a manual backup fill panel for use during power outages. The two-position fill station is supported by three 6000 PSI ISO storage cylinders and a door-mounted high-pressure reel with 75 feet of high-pressure air hose for remote filling of apparatus inside the station.

This system will help support the members of Stony Point Fire Department for many years to come, and we appreciate the opportunity to partner with you on this project.

Can you say problem solved?

During the replacement of their SCBA units last year, the Charlotte Fire Department also evaluated options for their RIT Pak program. One of the department’s biggest goals was to avoid using a specially designed cylinder dedicated only for RIT operations.

Working alongside the CFD SCBA Committee and RIT Safety Solutions, our team helped develop a completely custom-built RIT bag designed specifically to meet the needs of a large metro department.

This setup supports a full 3M Scott Fast Attack RIT hardware kit including:
• Pneumatics system
• Low pressure UBESS hose
• RIC/UAC hose
• 3M Scott C5 RIT Mask
• RIT Regulator

Most importantly, the system utilizes a standard 45-minute 5500 PSI cylinder, allowing the department to standardize on a single cylinder model across operations.

The custom bag features:
• Full-opening top with cylinder retention straps
• Side-mounted hose sleeves for easy hose management
• Storage for the mask and regulator in the connected position
• Top compartment hose routing for easier deployment
• Older style “Hansen” fittings for compatibility with mutual aid departments utilizing older buddy breathing connections

The CFD committee worked through multiple design concepts with Rhinehart Fire Services and RIT Safety Solutions before arriving at this final product, and we are proud to have been part of the process.
