Summer took a lot.

The schedules. The camps. The meals. The work squeezed into whatever time was left.

Now that the kids are back in their routines, itโ€™s time to make a little room for yours.

BACK TO YOU is a day at The Lola for moms ready to reconnect with their work, their rhythm, their ideas, and real community.

Bring your laptop. Get some work done. Have coffee. Meet other women who understand what summer looked like. Weโ€™ll also gather for a relaxed Mom Circle about what you want to reclaim this season and what support would actually help.

Building your own thing doesnโ€™t mean you have to figure out every part of it alone.

.agency her way, learning through experience, mistakes, mentorship, and plenty of figuring it out as she went. When she joined The Lola, she expected professional connections. What surprised her were the real friendships and the women she could talk to about business, life, and the questions that come with building something of your own.

That kind of proximity matters.

September is looking very good in the room. ๐Ÿ‘€

A reset after the back-to-school rush. Conversations with women building things. Time to make something, work through something, meet someone new, or finally get the thing done.

Thereโ€™s a lot happening at The Lola this September, but the calendar is only part of the story.

Because sometimes you come for whatโ€™s scheduled and leave with a new idea, an introduction, a collaborator, or the exact conversation you didnโ€™t know you needed.

Thatโ€™s what proximity can do.

Swipe through to find what belongs on your September calendar. Then send this to the woman you want in the room with you.

Memberships are open. Come see it for yourself.

This is what community in action looks like!

For our Black Business Month edition of Third Friday, we centered Black women and welcomed everyone who came ready to work, shop, connect, and circulate money.

Thank you to every business owner, member, guest, and supporter who showed up.

And thank you to Camille Telicia | Leadership Coach for leading a powerful conversation about building businesses without carrying everything alone.

๐Ÿšจ SHARE! Send this to someone who should be in the room Friday.

Your Black-owned business radar just got better. ๐Ÿ‘€

This Friday, meet the businesses bringing what theyโ€™re building into the room at The Lola.

Discover Black-owned businesses, shop directly from founders, and make connections that go beyond the transaction.

And Friday morning, join Camille for Built for Us: From Me to We, an interactive workshop exploring how Ujima, Ujamaa, and your unique Elemental Leadership Style can help you move beyond building alone and create a stronger business ecosystem.

Because your business was never meant to be carried alone.

Most of us have been told to find mentors.

Fewer of us are taught to notice who is actually advocating for us.

There's a meaningful difference between someone who helps you think through an opportunity and someone who puts your name forward for one.

And sponsorship usually doesn't begin with a formal ask.

It often starts much smaller.

Someone sees how you work.
You build trust.
They understand where you're headed.
Then, when your name isn't in the room, they bring it into the conversation.

So here's the question worth sitting with:
Who knows your work well enough to advocate for it?

And just as importantly, whose name are you saying when they're not in the room?

Black women are already networking.

The real question is, are we all building together?

Happy Black Business Month!!

For Black Business Month, weโ€™re making Third Friday about more than meeting people.

Weโ€™re coworking. Weโ€™re shopping Black-owned businesses. Weโ€™re talking honestly about what it takes to stop carrying the whole business alone.

Because community should do more than make you feel good. It should help you build better.

Join us THIS Friday, August 21 at The Lola.

Being good at what you do and knowing how to run a business are two completely different things.

Star Bass learned that one by building.

What started as a group chat with a few girlfriends during the pandemic eventually became Queens Tea Party, and there was no blueprint waiting for her.

She learned through trial and error. She pivoted. She made expensive mistakes. She figured out pricing, systems, people, and when an opportunity was actually worth saying yes to.

Now, Star is building the next version of Queens Tea Party through private luxury tea experiences, special events, new partnerships, and a business that can grow without everything depending on her.

She came to The Lola looking for space to grow.

She found women who supported her, encouraged her, and genuinely wanted to see her win.

And her word for this chapter?
Becoming.

Still building. Still learning. Still figuring some things out. And liking the woman sheโ€™s becoming in the process.

Ready to build whatโ€™s next around women doing the same? Book a tour of The Lola and take the first step toward becoming a member. Link in bio.
