The most confident person in the room isn't always the loudest.
Confidence doesn't have to be loud.
Sometimes...
It's walking into the room prepared.
It's making eye contact.
It's listening more than speaking.
It's standing with purpose.
It's wearing something that makes you feel like your best self.
That's professional presence.
This week, and I are talking about how style and communication work together to create confidence that people can both see and feel.
Because when your appearance aligns with your message...
People remember your impact—not your outfit.
What's one thing that instantly helps you feel more confident before an important meeting or presentation?

One word. Twice the appreciation. 🔥

"Thank you" is good, but one simple word can communicate a much deeper level of appreciation.

You already have a first impression... before you ever say a word.

Ever heard the phrase, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression?"

It's true.
Before you introduce yourself...
Before you shake hands...
Before you present your ideas...

People are already reading you.
Your posture.
Your confidence.
Your eye contact.
Your energy.
Your style.

This month, I'm teaming up with the amazing to dive into one of my favorite leadership topics:
Professional Presence.

Because your presence isn't about being perfect.
It's about being intentional.

Together, we'll share practical ways to strengthen your confidence, elevate your communication, and ensure your presence reflects your purpose.

Tell us:
What's ONE thing you notice first when meeting someone?
We'd love to hear your thoughts!

I almost forgot to video ▶️ Pocket Phrase Friday ▶️ ... which is fitting, because this week's pocket phrase is exactly what to say when someone makes a simple mistake. 😅 This pocket phrase is far more effective than saying "Don't worry about it."

This United team member was a one man pep rally today. He called out for July birthdays and led us in the HB song. “You don’t sing, you don’t fly’” 🤣🤣🤣. Talk to people, it’s fun.

The Confidence You Build After It Goes Wrong

Let's be honest — you're going to have conversations this month that don't go the way you planned. You'll freeze, say the wrong thing, or walk away wishing you'd done it differently.

That doesn't mean you're bad at communicating. It means you're practicing.

Here's how to respond when a conversation goes sideways:
Debrief without destroying yourself. Ask: What specifically didn't work? What would I do differently? Then stop there. No need to replay it 47 more times.

Go back when needed. "I don't think I communicated what I meant — can we try again?" That takes more courage than the original conversation, and it builds more credibility than getting it perfect the first time.
Separate outcome from skill.

Confidence isn't built in the conversations that go well. It's built in the ones that fall apart — and you show up to the next one anyway.

Keep going. You belong in the room.

Before the first box was loaded on the truck, I had one conversation with my daughter; the planning paid off.
